For Tin I used a Genesis 2 male and one of the western outfits. I had a terrible time with that portal. Me and Obj files just don't work together well. I'll let someone else worry about visuals, I was just trying to establish a starting protagonist character, an obstacle/antagonist, and a goal.

Not to worry, I had difficulties with the portal too with no UV maps. I had thought of opening blender and texture-mapping it myself, but I have other projects going too. I'm going to ask at the blender forum.

I don't have my 3d software installed on this computer, that's why I didn't include a picture with my contribution.

Btw, I was deliberately vague as to his identity, let the members decide who he is and what he has in his satchel.

Characters so far: (and some personal observations/questions)

Tin: No doubt Tin is one of the rebels working to reclaim the world of Rendo. Still much character development open there, and anyone can add to it.

The Doctor: As yet unnamed, or maybe he is just called Doctor, and he seems competent on basic theory, but lacking a deeper understanding of the technology he is trying to unlock.

DorkandAlda: No clue what this mysterious race is all about yet.

Samarah Nightfire: Is she an ally, enemy? Is she off-world? What species is she?

The (Dalek?): or another similar species. Either way, they are definitely hostile to Rendo. (Is the Doctor in some way involved with the mech species? I've always wondered what the Doctor (Who) was like before he knew anything that was going on, back at the beginning of his career as the Doctor, before he had the Tardis, or that crazy screwdriver. A character loosely based on the Doctor back at his very earliest beginning would be interesting.)

P.S. I really like that background mrsparky did.

Edit: Oh, Jeff posted while I was writing this... we have another new mysterious character... and that satchel.

Samarah Nightfire Backstory:

She is/will be an ally. She is immortal, part dragon. Comes from the world of Draconica. On her planet there is an eternal fire, which was given to her people by the dragon god Draco. When someone dies, there is a window of 3 days time, where they can be placed into this fire and brought back to life. They are then immortal, and..also will have healing powers. They can bite you and you are healed from sickness or injury. (The eternal flame will reject those with hearts of evil intent). Her clan is called Dragoi. Dragoi can shape shift into dragon form.

The only thing I would suggest is; when you have a character that powerful, you have to build an equally powerful weakness into them. For example, Superman has kryptonite, Batman, despite all his technology and intelligence, is still human and suffers from an emotional trauma as a child, Thor's power can be taken away by Odin, and has been done many times to teach him a lesson about humility, Green Lantern has a weakness to the color yellow, Rogue drains the life from anyone she touches, but leaves her isolated in loneliness. I personally prefer weaknesses that make sense, such as; In my own books, Colt, the Gunslinger, is afraid of heights, Toran, the amphibian, is afraid of deep water because he was once attacked by a shark, the feared Darai assassins are so short that getting a drink of water from a human sink is a major challenge, and the Emperor Fox, who during his exile, was cared for as a small child by a man from the species that is his mortal enemy, and that debt leaves him vulnerable to having empathy towards his enemy.

Readers like the underdog more than the archetypal superhero. So, give your superhero weakness that allow the reader to relate to them.

Ah, but nobody knows that salt (salt water) is a weakness, and different types of salt, or amounts react differently. Perhaps there are little clues that nobody realizes. She is at dinner and someone asks her to pass the salt. Oh, the dilemma, she must pass it, but oh so gingerly. And perhaps someone performs the superstition of tossing salt over their shoulder and she quickly steps aside to avoid the salt. Perhaps salted food causes some discomfort, perhaps even to the level of humorous bodily functions, like uncontrolled burping. You see, you can have a lot of fun with it, and the reader will be watching for encounters with the dreaded salt, and how she will overcome. But what you want to avoid is the tired old trope of 'oh no, water, I'm melting'. Make each salt encounter brief and original.

edit: just had a thought. there is salt in human sweat, maybe sweaty humans is something she finds disgusting, and she is constantly trying to hand a towel to sweaty humans she encounters.
