Attached Link: More Terrain thread

Hello all,

As I am re-learning to sculpt new worlds in MojoWorld I came upon the 'More Terrain' thread from 2006 (see link) and got excited again to start creating new abstract worlds.

Sadly I do not have the world files anymore from the terrain I created and showed in that thread, so I decided to start fresh again.

First I took my old terrain contours materials and gave them an overhaul and updated them to my new standard. By that I mean that all nodes, leafs etc have a proper name, planet info is added before finalizing and saving the file and proper text and thumbnails are created at the Save As stage for the planets, materials etc.

I uploaded the 3 terrain contours materials that I deemed worthy of sharing to the Free Stuff area (which still need to be verified at the moment that I am writing this). I will start a new thread showing the example images as soon as they are approved. Feel free to use or abuse them as you please :)

I will share all the worlds and materials at your request and I hope this thread will inspire some of you again too.

Cheers, MojoLunatic Anne

Attached Link: Sine Test Render using the Terrain Contours (Calyxa Tweak) material

Here is my first test using the Sine function. I am starting simple and work my way up to more interesting and complex landscapes.

I used the Terrain Contours (Calyxa Tweak) material to render this image.

I used the Terrain Contours (Default) material to render this image.

On further testing and experimenting I will probably keep using this material from now on.

You will yield better distortions if you use a distoreted noise with 2 sine values with experimental curves :) Have a look in the free stuff a planet "shits n giggles" as an example.

I feel a revisit to the abstract side of MJW may be coming soon ;)
