Thanks.. I did try to use the DOF feature.  I'm having a hard time trying to figure out to posistion the planes. I get one where I want it but the back one is either to far or to close.  I'll figure it sometime lol

I sounds like you use the feature for DOF in DazStudio? I never do that. I just select the right (or left) eye, call Reality and set the depth I want there. :)

Quote - Awrgh! I found out how to insert the image properly but now I cannot edit my own post??? The button simply isn't there and I am logged in! (is there a max on the 'edit'??)

Well, let's try the image again. (If this doesn't work I'll scream! ;) )A Lonely Street

Oooo So pretty!  Love the pose!

I used to do that, but now when I try I get really out of focus images.  so maybe I'm doing it wrong.

Well, just make sure you have the 'node selection tool' activated, then select an eye, then call Reality, then set focus.

When you select a -surface- with the 'surface selection tool' it won't work cuz some other 'node' might be still selected. As far as I know Reality looks at the node selected.

Could this have been your problem?

So when you say "node" do you me the actual eye for example?  Or creating a null and positioning it front of the eye and selecting that?

Hmmm. The DOF fix Paolo implemented a while back causes a much more pronounced effect, so selecting the eye might be too far back now. Paolo used to suggest creating a null and placing it on the eye surface and focusing on that because selecting the eye caused Lux to focus inside it instead of on the surface.

A node is a stopping point along a series of branches. A figure such as a humanoid would have each body part as a node for example. These are what you select and move around. Filter Forge uses a node-based editor and each "thing" you add and link together and drag around would be a node.

That's what I had been doing, meaning creating a null and positioning it at the eye, and after the release when I tried it the focuing was WAY off.  Scary off.. So I must be doing something wrong.

Creating a null and place it precisely works the best, for far-away-shots (like my lonely street image) the eye will do nicely. :)

To play it safe: always use a null!

  takoyaki8    ( ) ( posted at 10:41AM Fri, 18 May 2012  · @3929966

It appears Renderosity doesn't know what to do with the subdomain and attaches it to  http://www.renderosity.com/mod/forumpro/ instead. LOL

Let's try this (and if this fails, copying and pasting into your browser address bar will work.) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tree_(data_structure)

I don't know why using a null would fail to work if you made sure it was selected in the scene tab before loading reality and then hit the focus on selection button. :(

For DoF I have used Null's before. Have not tried that in a while though.

BTW, I think you can only edit your post if it's the last post in the thread. Not sure, just the impression I get from when I can and cannot edit mine.

Regarding the DAZ Froum software, it was chosen for some tie-in to the newre or some software they are using with the new store. Choosing the best forum software was unfortunately not the driving factor.

Of course, the forum software here also has its pros and cons as well.

Or maybe there's a time delay, as I can no longer edit my previous post (or soem combination of both).

A lot of great renders in here already!! :D

I left my window open for a while and after about 10 minutes I clicked "edit" and it told me that the ability to edit or delete my post had expired and that only an admin/mod could do it now. ;)

Hmm....   I got the Bungalow on sale...  A bunch of that artists stuff came up a few months ago.  I got like $1400 of stuff in my wishlist, and when it comes up I buy it.

I'm gonna get that hair.

This one was quite painful to render I was only able to run it with mem conserve all the unseen parts were hidden it still took approx 85% of CPU usage... But I did get it done..
