I Thought This Was So Cute
And wanted to share with everybody! =)
What does Love mean?
A group of professional people posed this question to a group of 4 to 8 year-olds, "What does love mean?"
The answers they got were broader and deeper than anyone could have imagined. See what you think:
"When my grandmother got arthritis, she couldn't bend over and paint her toenails anymore. So my grandfather does it for her all the time, even when his hands got arthritis too. That's love."
Rebecca - age 8
"When someone loves you, the way they say your name is different. You just know that your name is safe in their mouth."
Billy - age 4
"Love is when a girl puts on perfume and a boy puts on shaving cologne and they go out and smell each other."
Karl - age 5
"Love is when you go out to eat and give somebody most of your French fries without making them give you any of theirs."
Chrissy - age 6
"Love is what makes you smile when you're tired."
Terri - age 4
"Love is when my mommy makes coffee for my daddy and she takes a sip before giving it to him, to make sure the taste is OK."
Danny - age 7
"Love is when you kiss all the time. Then when you get tired of kissing, you still want to be together and you talk more. My Mommy and Daddy are like that. They look gross when they kiss."
Emily - age 8
"Love is what's in the room with you at Christmas if you stop opening presents and listen."
Bobby - age 7
"If you want to learn to love better, you should start with a friend who you hate."
Nikka - age 6
"Love is when you tell a guy you like his shirt, then he wears it everyday."
Noelle - age 7
"Love is like a little old woman and a little old man who are still friends even after they know each other so well."
Tommy - age 6
"Love is when Mommy gives Daddy the best piece of chicken."
"Love is when Mommy sees Daddy smelly and sweaty and still says he is handsomer than Robert Redford."
Chris - age 7
"Love is when your puppy licks your face even after you left him alone all day."
Mary Ann - age 4
"I know my older sister loves me because she gives me all her old clothes and has to go out and buy new ones."
Lauren - age 4
"When you love somebody, your eyelashes go up and down and little stars come out of you."
Karen - age 7
"Love is when Mommy sees Daddy on the toilet and she doesn't think it's gross."
Mark - age 6
"You really shouldn't say 'I love you' unless you mean it. But if you mean it, you should say it a lot. People forget."
Jessica - age 8
And the final one -- Author and lecturer Leo Buscaglia once talked about a contest he was asked to judge.
The purpose of the contest was to find the most caring child.
The winner was a four year old child whose next door neighbor was an elderly gentleman who had recently lost his wife.
Upon seeing the man cry, the little boy went into the old gentleman's yard, climbed onto his lap, and just sat there.
When his Mother asked what he had said to the neighbor, the little boy said, "Nothing, I just helped him cry."
CafePress Shoppe Up
Been a while since I posted a blog, yes, I know. *giggles*
Busy, what can I say.
So the CafePress Shoppe is up and running, and I've got some recently added products up there. It's a bit hard trying to decide what to post there since it's all very...tight, with the options...but I'm making due.
In all reality, I'm only making about $4 per item, but that's not bad. I've sold a few things (my aunt and boyfriend both bought two shirts), but that's all. Started it in March, I think...*nod*
I'd love it if everybody would take a look, there will be a news section up soon. It's still very much under construction, but feel free to browse. =)
My CafePress Shoppe
More Poser artwork coming up soon, haven't had the time to work in it lately. And that's been driving me nuts, seriously.
If you have any questions, or ideas, or even image requests (or if you see something you like in my gallery that you want on a product), please feel free to contact me through R'Osity. =)
Till next time, artists in arms!
A Dash Of Ramble
Woo! Second blog. Yeah, building up the gusto here, people.
Okay, for those of you who are unaware (as I'm sure most of you are, anyway), I'm doing a complete work-over of my gallery. I've deleted all the images I didn't really want in there, and now that I have all of the pieces saved with my signature on them, I'm uploading those instead. This is simply to protect my work. Because there's nothing like working on something, only to have it stolen. Yeah. That sucks.
The ones that I don't like but have left up - I'm reworking and reposting. I figure give an update to the ones that were good conceptually but not in skill. There were some I did in 2004 and early 2005 that had good concepts, but the work was bad. So hey, change what you don't like, you know?
In other news regarding my artwork - soon to come (I think), a CafePress shop. Tee-shirts, mugs, calendars, you name it. Gotta get the funds...that's the hard part. Just gotta get the funds. Takes money to make money, right?
...*shakes her head* I'm screwed.
But if it goes as planned, which I REALLY hope it does (it would kick supreme amounts of ass, you know), it'll likely be up sometime next month. Whenever I get enough cash to buy the materials. I heard CafePress is good for shops, though, but eh. I don't know. We'll see. I hope it all works out.
If it does, you'll know - it's gonna be up here, blog post, and the link to the store is going to be on my homepage and also on every single image note, too. *laughs*
Hey, what can I say. Money is in short supply. Anything I can do to make just a little bit more is a step in the right direction. Besides, my friends would buy stuff and everything, so it's not a total waste of time. Who knows? It could actually be quite rewarding. I hope so...I need something to work out. All my other plans fail.
...Other than the plan to take over the world. That seems to be going quite nicely. *laughs*
Book is going nowhere quickly and stuck in a prefinish stasis.
I think my muse is cheating on me again. She's likely getting all snuggly with the schmuck that wrote Eragon right about now, what's his name, yeah, that kid. So the movie was good, big whoop. I don't know, he pretty much took things from all the fantasy novels, mixed them up in a big pot, added a pinch of dragon and a dash of overkill and then published it. It really annoys the hell out of me when people do that, like the lady who wrote the "Replica" series totally ripping off that one episode of Buffy. I don't know, man. It's like, there's nothing original out there. Yeah, my story is about Vampires - one of the most overdone genres around. But still, I make a point to make it my own. Whereas some people just say, "I think this is neat, so I'm going to reword a few things and then claim it as my own, even though someone else wrote it a half-century ago."
I like the gal that wrote Harry Potter, though. J.K. Rowling, isn't it? Yeah. See, the story isn't really my type of thing, but she makes it work. I don't like the story and she even managed to drag me into it. It takes a good writer with a magical pen to do that to me, and she managed it. Even though "Harry Potter" sounds like some type of funky disease.
"Yeah, I'm here to get my Harry Potter removed."
Anyway, back to my book (damn me and my ramblings). I've got a couple more chapters, I think, and then it's done. But for some reason, be it lack of inspiration or motivation, since it's unapparent which one fits, I can't finish it. I'll be sitting there for hours, staring at the screen, completely blank. It's really pissing me off.
My mom's been pretty neat, she tells me not to worry about it because "How many times have you been through this already?" and "After all, your brain's so chaotic it's a wonder you can type quick enough to catch all the ideas."
That's the thing, I can't. If I could, there'd be about nine or ten books done already and I'd be a fricken household name.
Well, I guess I am a household name, but only in this household. *chuckles*
All I'm saying is that it's really frustrating. The book already has an ending that's set in stone, I know how it ends, and I know there's going to be a second one and possibly a third. The problem is - how the hell will it get on paper? And mom's talking about me getting it published and stuff by August so I can make it for the Times this year, yeah, that'll happen. And maybe I'll learn how to play the guitar with my toes, too.
Well, that's about it for now, I guess. Damn well should be, this post is long.
Oh shite! Almost forgot to mention - hey, if anyone is interested in a request, I do them for free. Just as long as, you know, you don't want to use them for something other than personal joy. I'll dedicate one to you, made for you, but just...don't be all stupid and use it for something else, LOL! REQUESTS! ALWAYS FREE! Yay for giving! *does a happy dance*
Comment here or message me for details or questions or whatever, about whatever, I don't care. Will respond ASAP, I'm a busy gal.
Much love to those who read (and those who don't, too, by the by). Till next time, R'Osity Cats.
Peace, and out.
First Blog Post
This is my first R'Osity blog. I feel special.
Brief warning to those who read: my thoughts tend to waver, so if I delve into something else that had nothing to do with how the blog started, pardon me.
It happens. >.>
Anyway, what to say...
I dunno, I'm just in a weird mood lately, that's all. My artwork is either going to be really dark or just plain not at all. I guess that goes with being the ever-so-moody artist. Funny thing is, I'm happy, really happy. It's just that my creative juices haven't been flowing like normal lately, and it's really getting me down.
My book, I'm hoping, will be finished sometime soon. Then I'll hand it over to my editor, see what she has to say about it, and then work on finding someone to do my cover art.
Now, for those of you who have seen my artwork, you're likely thinking, "But you can do that yourself!"
Well...maybe. But I'd rather have someone with a little more time under their belt working on my cover. Not to mention I'm not skilled in PS too much. I want someone who can to very detailed work, and my art...well... I don't know.
There have been people I've talked to, and no one really seems to fit. The energy is either on two completely different levels, or they just don't get the general concept of what I want, or I don't see myself trusting them enough to let them get a feel for it and do as they see fit. Fffs, there was one person who offered to do it for me, but wanted $1,500 up front, and if I didn't like it there really wouldn't be a refund.
I'm sorry, but that's just friggen stupid. I have NO PROBLEM paying someone (I don't care if I have to scratch up change under the couch to do it, lol). But to ask for $1,500 up front and say, "Well, em...if you don't like it, too bad"...yeah. How about no.
The book is getting to me. I really want to finish it. See, I have an attention span of a Chihuahua on crack, so it's hard to stay on one project for too long. But with the book, I've remained loyal to it. Jeez, though, between writers block and everything else, it's just getting to me. I want it DONE so another project can be started without my feeling guilty. I don't want to put anything off because of a different idea.
Well, anyway. I'll keep whoever reads this posted on the book and other things, as well. If you have any comments or questions or art requests or anything, feel free to message me.
