Notes: A rare carnivorous tropical pitcher plant considered one of the most spectacular of all Nepenthes, producing some of the largest pitchers and the most highly developed tooth-like peristome ribs of any species in the genus. It prefers nutrient-poor, acidic soils and has adapted to capture insects to supplement its nutritional needs. The plant is highly prized among collectors due to its spectacular appearance and rarity. It is a slow-growing species, often taking several years to reach significant size.
