Beware the Pumpkin patch:

Stay out of the pumpkin patch at night, When moonlight’s gone and stars take flight,
The vines there glow with ghostly hue, And whispering gourds might speak to you.

For Sweet Pumpkin strolls the patch unseen, Her cloak stitched from midnight and tangerine.
She counts each gourd with a spectral hand, And hums in tongues you won’t understand.

If you glimpse her eyes—don’t dare to stare, their molten gold will snare you there,
She’ll meshmerize with a honeyed trance,
And lead you off in a dreamlike dance.

She’ll tuck you deep in a velvet lair,
To ripen slow in perfumed air.
Then when the harvest moon ascends,
She’ll feast on you where the vine-line ends.
