av67756.jpgCongratulations to Danie for being Renderosity's Vendor of the Month for January!

Who is 'Danie'?

I was born and raised in Berlin, Germany and I still live in this great City with my husband and my two boys (13 and 6 years old). I love music, good movies, nature and art. When I'm not working on new products, I enjoy spending time with my kids and family.

Have you had any traditional art experience or training?

I've always been interested in art and loved to draw and paint since I was in school. Fifteen years ago I found a new medium to create digital art and was hooked ever since. This is DM Productions 10 year anniversary, and during these years I've learned a lot and most of my skills are self taught.

What are you currently working on?

We have several ongoing projects, so all I can really say is stay tuned. :)

What software is currently in your digital toolset and why?

There are too many to name them all, but mainly Poser, Photoshop and CINEMA 4D.

Are there perhaps any tips or tricks you have found in your own work that might be of help to others learning the software you use?

The most important one, by far, is to "learn by doing." Don't be afraid to make mistakes, because that is how we learn, and then perfect our work over time.

Where do you find inspiration for your products, and do you have any particular favorite among the products you've created?

Inspiration is all around us in real life, movies, games, music, people ... and a special source of this for me is my partner marforno. All of DM Products are my favorites, since I know how much work and care went into creating them, but if I had to pick some, it would be "Land of Sorrow," "Chronicles," "Lost Land," "Phantasy Mood," and "Elven Rock." Some of the older favorites are "Marlene's Lair," "Rituals," and our "Time Prisoners" series. Oh and all the pose collections of course. :)

Have you ever created product in response to customer feedback?

We always welcome ideas from customers and take improvement suggestions very seriously. Our creative process is one of natural progression that usually develops from one small idea and then grows and takes on a life of it's own during the course of the project.

Do you have any advice for aspiring Digital Content Developers?

Be original, don't copy someone else's concepts and don't take shortcuts. Pay attention to details, to the quality of your work and add your own unique style.

How has this online Community (Renderosity) enhanced your work, relationships, and learning?

Renderosity is full of wonderful and talented people who have given me many years of inspiration and support, and I've met many nice and interesting artists from all around the world, some of which have become great friends.

Do you have any final words or advice for other digital artists?

Once again a big thank you goes to all our customers for their continued support, all their kind feedbacks and the wonderful artwork they do with DM products. You are amazing, and the fuel that keeps us going. THANKS!!

A very special thanks to my partner Martin, I wouldn't be here without you. :)

Special thanks to Rhiannon for your friendship and all your help.

And also many thanks to Debbie M. and the Renderosity staff, to Abraham, mirrorofsoul, Swantje, didi_mc, Maddelirium, Kinouk, arwenone, Alejandra and turtle for all your support and time. :)
