Description

Sasso Lungo The Dolomites N.Italy ^^/\^^ Refuge Tony Demetz can be seen at the top of the right col, with my decent route zig-zagging down to Passo Sella. The walk down was an utter delight. I followed path 525 (marked all the way) as it twisted down through a typical, breath-taking, Dolomite landscape, with whistling marmots telling each other I was about, and I was in awe all the way. Alas I ended up rushing the last few hundred meters to avoid the looming storm. I managed to get perhaps 3 hours of fairly clear weather and then the show was over as the cloud closed in again. I had to drive back to Lake Garda for the rest of my holiday....never mind eh? It just means I'll have to return and try again next year! Ciao for now.

Ciao Anthony. Le Dolomite.... the most beautiful mountains of the world !!! I was there 3 weeks ago, and fall in love with them ! Sasso Lungo is beautiful, and your photograph a piece of heaven for me, for personal reasons. Thank your for sharing this shot. Have a nice week-end.

A memorable shot, and I can't say, I'm not jealous. Then 100% of good photography is being there at the right time. A real keeper!
