All of a sudden, I've got a craving for Sugar Babies . . . . go figure !!! "My Green Tambourine" was a song (one-hit wonder) by The Lemon Pipers (they must have gotten that name from a random word generator!!!) The lead guitarist, Bill Bartlett, went on to later help form the group, Ram Jam, of "Black Betty" fame (another one-hit wonder!!!). Bill Barlett in his very early days played in a band called, Tony and the Bandits who recorded a song titled, "A Bit of Alright." This was during the mid-sixties/British Invasion Days. Tony and the Bandits once played as the house band at Al & Larry's Cupboard in the college town of Oxford, Ohio where the University of Miami (Ohio) is located. When "The Bandits" quit their gig at The Cupboard to go and promote their record, the band I was in, The Vigilantes, was hired to take their place. We were 15-16 years old, at the time. The "Bandits" never got their gig back. We were the house band for the next two years. Just a little Southwestern Ohio "Rock 'n' Roll" history for you . . . . . very little !!!!!!
