The Times, They Are A Changin’
Come gather 'round people Wherever you roam And admit that the waters Around you have grown And accept it that soon You'll be drenched to the bone If your time to you is worth savin' And you better start swimmin' Or you'll sink like a stone For the times they are a-changin'
Come writers and critics Who prophesize with your pen And keep your eyes wide The chance won't come again And don't speak too soon For the wheel's still in spin And there's no tellin' who That it's namin' For the loser now Will be later to win For the times they are a-changin'
Come senators, congressmen Please heed the call Don't stand in the doorway Don't block up the hall For he that gets hurt Will be he who has stalled The battle outside ragin' Will soon shake your windows And rattle your walls For the times they are a-changin'
Come mothers and fathers Throughout the land And don't criticize What you can't understand Your sons and your daughters Are beyond your command Your old road is rapidly agin' Please get out of the new one If you can't lend your hand For the times they are a-changin'
The line it is drawn The curse it is cast The slow one now Will later be fast As the present now Will later be past The order is rapidly fadin' And the first one now Will later be last For the times they are a-changin'
By Bob Dylan
Dylan’s classic is more appropriate now than ever. The times are changin’ indeed. And in more ways than can be easily counted. We have a new so-called “leadership” in Washington now, and I could fill an entire ream of paper with my thoughts on that subject, however, I shall spare you. Most of my visitors and friends here know my feelings about the current occupant of the White House. I pray we survive the next 4 years (or at least 2 years for the mid-terms).
Things at the RodS Art Studios are also in a flux that never seems to end. It just keeps “fluxing up” to put it mildly, or a reasonable facsimile thereof..
In addition to trying to get all the little nit-picking jobs around this house done, we’ve had some medical things to work through. Nothing serious; more annoying than anything else. Jo’s had some problems with her hips and neck. She had a DEXA bone scan done, which showed a bit of osteoporosis in both places. Not severe, but she’ll be getting a new prescription. As for me, I have been having problems with dry skin, and the #$$%$# itching that goes along with it. It’s all over my body, and it’s about to drive me mad! It tends to come and go, and the cold weather, dry air inside, tend to exacerbate the problem.
I spent most of last Wednesday (22nd) dealing with frozen pipes. No ruptures or leaks, thankfully, and I was finally able to get things thawed out. And on it goes. Life happens. Anyway….
Things here at ‘Rosity seem to be in a flux of change as well. Lots of the “old timers” have left – and they are missed. A number of you have commented about the decreasing number of comments over the last year or two. I used to get 2 pages of comments back in the day. Now, I feel good if I get a dozen. And the galleries have been pretty much taken over by AI. I just saw a post that reflected the feeling that the galleries are becoming rather boring with all the multiple, repetitive images. And most of those posting them rarely, if ever, comment on anyone else’s artworks.
A lot of this has resulted in a bit of a lack of motivation for me, and I’m sure it’s the same for many others – and likely why many of the long-timers here have moved on.
However…. For myself, I am NOT planning on leaving (at least not yet). I still have several long-time friends here, and several new ones as well. I will be working to post more often, and YES, that includes my 15-years-and-running TNA story. The world is giving me plenty of material to work with, so the Girls are going to be around as often as I have time to work on the story. Keep watching. Same bat time, same bat-channel.
I am also planning on doing some badly needed upgrades to my website (Rod’s Lair – link below), my GFTNA website, my Patreon, Ko-Fi, and Merch sites (sorry, I can’t link them here). It’s gonna be a busy late winter here at Rod’s place! Stay tuned. Feel free to grab this for wallpaper if you like it (1920 X 1080).
Left to right: Abagail, Arquinia (Kinnie), Arawen, G4.
Thanks so much for dropping by (especially if you took the time to read all the above), having a look, and for any comments you wish to leave. I deeply appreciate them all! Stay safe, and stay creative.
I did not tick the "violence" tag. The Girls have guns, but no shooting is depicted.

The "Great Enshittification" is global, but we're fighting back (and so are the TNA & TMKF Girls). My protest songs of choice right now include the following:
The Jam - "Going Underground" https://youtu.be/AE1ct5yEuVY
Midnight Oil - "Read About It" https://youtu.be/9QzH4KOf9Bs
Bruce Springsteen - "Badlands" https://youtu.be/o5IZuuzUa04

indeed. i'm rather worried. love the gals statement. classic Bob for sure. times here at rendo also. fewer viewers, comments. PG Mag last was missed by many thinking about pulling it or leave here, many of my friends only comment here and there or at all. hope the best for Jo.
RodS
Thanks, Steve! She's doing good!

Still here, also finding so many of those I follow have gone elsewhere. Not quite sure what's going to happen in this daft world.
RodS
Me neither. It's going to be an interesting ride.

My pleasure! Thanks for stopping by!

Not getting into politics here - too much of that elsewhere....
I've noticed the fewer postings and comments also and am a bit guilty myself as other non art things seem to take over and half completed scenes lurk in cache.
AI has at least a little to do with changes in here and other sites as well. This also adds to the boredom as so many AI images look essentially the same. Can't blame AI users too much, however, as I've found that taking a few days to assemble complex scenes with lots of detailed props, textures, and lighting often receives less attention than quick pinups in studio lights or an HDRI.
Could be age and attrition is effecting us like other hobbies requiring 'dated' tastes and skills. Miniature painting was a big deal twenty years ago, but has slid into near oblivion with the decline of tabletop gaming. Historical reenacting in this country has been dramatically split into the hard core authentic outfits and the more casual groups still learning to load a musket while texting. Old cars might be getting stupid money at auctions, but they stir little interest amongst young people who can't change a tire.
Don't give up yet, Rod. 'll be around too, for whatever it's worth :)
RodS
It's worth a lot, good sir. Yep - all those art projects that get kicked aside by real life stuff... Stop it! Let me just sit here and create stuff! LOL

Several other 3D sites have completely or effectively banned AI generated images and I wish Renderosity would do the same. I make AI generated imagery as well as 3D, but I will probably never post any of the AI generated stuff on Renderosity or any of the other 3D sites I frequent, as I don't think it belongs.
That was a long winded way of agreeing with you, but hey, sometimes it needs to be said at length.
Hope to see more TNA, you know I love it, and I hope your health improves too. Please keep posting!

I've played a bit with the AI in Photoshop, but not enough to produce anything I'd even come close to sharing... I'm currently putting the scenes for Page 50 together, so stay tuned! 😁

Fun indeed! Thanks for stopping by!

I never wanted to live in interesting times!!!
RodS
Interesting times is one thing, insane times is quite another. Thanks for dropping by!

I agree with the sentiment that hobbies are cyclic, here today, gone tomorrow. Chess was all the rage when I was young, today only a few old men show up at tournaments. And politics certainly don't belong here, it's so exhausting to keep hearing the same Chicken Little sky is falling over and over.
RodS
LOL... I just got my hands slapped by Jo for putting you-know-who in that background... He (and the other face is Putin..) was included primarily as part of the "changin' " and not necessarily as a political statement. There might be a very light / humorous poke in the ribs in the story now and then, but I'll be staying away from anything overtly political.

Dear Rod, you packed all the difficult things of nowadays into your picture and it says it all. -- No need for words.
Great work!
RodS
Thank you very much! 😁

Love your artwork and the choice of Bob Dylan's song to go with it. Beautifully done! Take good care of yourself.

Yeah, I'm sick of seeing ai imagery everywhere, too. And no, I will not call it art. Only Humans can create art.

Good to see Abby again BTW Every time I see some a hole doing something really stupid I say "There's a Trump voter"
RodS
HEYYY! Good to see you still dropping by, my friend! Yes, indeed, Abby is a great addition to the team! I fell in love with her the first time I saw her! Hope all is well with you, good sir!

Beautiful girls, dressed to the nines! Great to see you posting again Rod. Glad your young Lady is managing her discomfort. Warmer weather will be here soon. Hopefully your skin will improve. Stay safe Sir. House almost ready for valuation.

An amazing and terrific scene. Lovely ladies as always and beautiful background color. Thanks for sharing.

I can empathize with real life physical and environmental problems; have been working through some health issues myself. If I get a single comment, especially if the contents of the comment suggests that someone has actually engaged with what I shared I am really happy. I do my art for myself but I cannot deny that having someone engage with me (especially if they like what I've done) is so nice.
As always, thanks for sharing, Rod, and your girls look sexy and fun as always. =)

Great title Rod, yes the times they are changing my friend...I could not say it better than the way you described it! Every time I visit I sense more and more artists are no longer here and not contributing their art to this site as they once did. Perhaps the problems of the world have finally put a pause in their creativity...I am guilty of not visiting this site as often as I once used to.
It may be sometime before I share another animation on this site as my enthusiasm is down a bit, so for now I will continue to comment on the art work of others like you and those that still post on this site. Keep up the great art work you are doing Rod, it's always a pleasure to view your art work...say hello to the girls on the TNA squad! :-)

Great post, Rod. The ladies are looking fine. These are times that try man's soul. I've been in a funk the last few weeks myself. Took a break from rendering but I think it helped. Hang in there, dude.

OMG lil brother, René and myself are feeling with you these next 4 years!
