Hey understood, like you said no offense to anyone using A.I.. I to find it less interesting viewing galleries with little 3d rendering. I staring to think Renderosity is no longer the place for 3d enthusiast. Not to mention the harm to 3d vendors as a whole. Anyway I hope you get the rejuvenation you need. I can tell many galleries are not getting the views like they once did. I may be taking a break myself or looking for a new home for my gallery.

Sorry to hear about the woes with Crapfinity. I had issues for about a month as well and demanded they send a technician out to double check all the lines from the main box all the way to the house. After the tech finally came out, they figured out that there was a problem with the box that covers about 5 of our houses in the cul de sac and parts needed to be updated/replaced. Hang in there. I hear you about the AI images in the galleries. I've stopped really looking at it as I agree, there's way more AI work than render works anymore. I love seeing what everyone does, not what the AI does. I know about the points you bring up about some need the help, but there's a lot that just now rely on the AI to do all the work and the results get posted, so basically it's like posting what is found on the internet. At this point I don't care if anyone gets mad about it, I'm just so tired of seeing the majority of items posted are now AI. Take your time and take care of you. Hope things get better soon.

Your works always leave me stunned. You are truly the most creative artist I know. I stopped working with AI. Be well, Rods :)

Wow! Thank you so much - you have me blushing.... LOL I really appreciate your words, my friend!

I'm supposed to be following over 100 members here; but recently I'm down to half-a-dozen or so, and though I know some have passed away there must be a lot more who've simply quit. The AI is interesting, but I don't comment on it. This isn't the place I joined all those years ago. I'll stay put here anyway.

I hear you, I'm not against AI but I think that it doesn't benefit Renderosity as a store at all. Stay safe !

What basically happens when the Internet gets monopolised. I post my art to at least 2-3 different sites now, in case one of them goes a bit fownhill.

Excellent work

Yes, my friend, so much has changed lately in the field of art expressions that are placed here. AI, it's surprising what is being done for you through your words, but it's not a real art. If I make a fractal f.e. I really give everything, and I also have the satisfaction of it. I'm sorry you still have technical problems and I wish you every success you need, Rod. Take care.

Wonderful render!

Sorry to hear about your troubles and you can only fight them one at a time so awesome luck with that and as for AI, well it doesnt bother me what people use to express an idea but to me they are eye candy and all kinda look the same after a while and usually I turn away from new AI galleries when I see them as they do not interest me.
Love your post and look forward to seeing your art when you return. Take care :)

I think I said more than enough on your previous posting but I agree, Renderosity should be about 'rendering,' right? Anywho, I struggled with Century Link for several years enduring periods of slow service or lack of service being held for ransom by the antiquated infrastructure of that company! Looking around our neighborhood and seeing what idiots and vandals do to the switching boxes in alleys and main streets that cause so many outages and also the lack of fiber optics being installed and most likely never being installed in our neighborhood really discouraged me. I'm not promoting what I did, but when Verizon wireless finally became available in our area, I promptly signed up. It has only been for a few months now, but so far, I'm a lot happier with it that I ever was with Century Link. So that is my simple take on internet connectivity. Take it with a pound or two of salt. Like I said, it is working for me right now but I would never try to persuade anyone to try it for themselves. Alright. I'm climbing off my soap box now and giving it back to whomever had it in the first place. LOL! Thanks very much, my friend, for all your kind and generous support over these past years. I am sending you as much positive energy as I can spare!

Have a good rest and will see you soon. Go snowboarding or something, that's always fun.

LOL - Hey, it's springtime here in the wonderful state of Missouri.. Snow's a little hard to find! Besides, I'd probably end up breaking my fool neck! 🤣

Hi RodS I'm sorry for your problems and hope you can solve them asap. As for the AI, although I use it too I'm not an avid fan, I prefer working in Daz, it gives me more satisfaction🙋♂️ Excellent work my friend 👍🙋♂️

Those annoying bad internet connections can be really frustrating. We rely on the internet so much these days that when it is slow or worse not working it can really get people angry. I guess that is where patience is most important which I have very little of myself. Hope you will get your service provider issues resolved shortly.
As for AI, I have never used the art AI and possibly never will. AI is being used in so much these days from Art, Animation, Memes, Robots, Alexa, Siri, Google, and so much more. I do use AI for other things such as Alexa and Google. The question then is AI good, evil or both? My guess is both.

I'm sorry to hear about the troubles you're having. Take as long a break as you need for your sanity. Until you return, I'll be looking forward to seeing what kinds of adventures the girls will be getting into next.

I hate issues with an internet provider. Can drive you nuts. Hope you get it resolved. Come back refreshed!!

I love AI but not all the Art made with AI, some artists managed to truly master it and use it to create amazing Artworks.
It is probably quite addictive on one hand but for serious art, you have to sweat many hours and sometimes even days so it's not that easy as it seems to be. My love is 3D art though and it's not goona change anytime soon.
Your isp providers suffer from greediness, gigabit optic fiber is the normal for many years and keep in mind, the internet bandwidth you pay is the upload speed, not the download speed. "Up to x GBps" is fraud, it is not acceptable you should have laws for that, I hope so. Also keep in mind, all ports must be opened or at least most of them should be opened, otherwise you would pay the full price of mostly nothing. No opened ports means you can't use internet services locally, i.e. on your machine, so you would not be able to run any sorts of servers you might need - in case you need them - so basically this means internet, good upload speed, opened ports to run anything you might need and the bandwidth you pay is the upload speed not the download speed. It's like buying 20 gallons of gas but you can not use more than two droplets a week and only on oldsmobile engines, otherwise you may only use a droplet a week; this is how people think internet is, especially isp providers behave mostly like that. It's time you wake up, otherwise it will last indefinitely.

I've already said my piece about the lazy AI 'make art' trend. I despise the stuff. Unfortunately it's everywhere. It seems most people default to taking the easy route instead of actually learning a skill. I tried a bit of it, and it was not at all satisfying. I created nothing, the 'Make Art' button did. I don't look at the galleries here anymore.
Yeah, the pop can photo lacks interest, but at least someone went out in the snow, framed that shot and took the picture. My photo's are no better. I don't really know a lot about framing a shot, let alone lighting and effects. I'd post them, but no one here comments or critiques much. I'm not in a hurry to create anything new these days.
Our reliance on internet connections is a bit freaky. There's no plan B anymore. If you have no internet, or God help you, no phone, you're screwed. Good luck getting that sorted out. What a headache.

Hi Rod, I'm once again so sorry for your problems and hope you can solve them soon (it's like a real nightmare). As for the AI, although I use it too, I'm not a 100% fan, but for the moment doing AI is a lot better for my stressed eyes (even with my new glasses I have still problems)!

Hey Rod...I tried following the girls into that AIosity store front and could't find them anywhere, where did they go my friend? I hope you feel better soon and find solutions to all your PC headaches!
The mood of this place has changed so rapidly that I am now only visiting this place once a week on Friday mornings since this site is now predominantly AI images. Unfortunately most of the people I follow have now left or are no longer contributing as often as they once did. That is a sad fact! :-(
It hard to compete with these AI images...they all look great and are so perfectly done by the many artist that know their way around the proper prompts. What does that do to the person that is just starting out and is in the process of uploading their first render done in Poser to this site. (its probably not a great confidence booster when compared to these AI images) It used to be most of us were on equal footing when once upon a time we all uploaded our Poser images to this site in years past and were exited and supportive to view what everyone else had done with the Poser software program. We as a community lived through some great times.
Then along came Daz Studio and a whole new category was born, but even then it was fun to compare what both programs had to offer. Now the new kid on the block is AI generated images and I truly believe this is the one that will kill this hobby of us for good. Why would anyone want to put in all the work that goes into Poser or Daz render images with all its PC and cost requirements and lets not forget the skill level that comes from mastering and using the programs, to generate an image? Specially when you can now use someone else's AI computer servers to generate this image for you.
From a business point of view...why would anyone want to incur the cost associated toward generating your own images from your PC, when instead you can sign up and acquire and AI subscription and become an instant AI artist in as little as a few hours. Certainly the vendors of the many great models that are created for Poser and Daz users will not be happy as their sales will suffer due to people not visiting their store fronts quite as often.
Yes the end is near my friend...it was nice while it lasted! :-)

That's a great rendering that is worth looking at in full resolution to see what you are doing there. As a story teller, I can appreciate the challenge of having your characters show up only as reflections as they walk away from "AIosity".
As for AI vs 3D computer rendering vs other forms of art? Meh. I do my art for me and it is always the BEST when someone has a coherent comment... BUT that's very rare over at Deviant Art (emphasize "Deviant" and de-emphasize "Art" XD) and a bit less rare here. I really treasure interaction with others who use my tools and to a lesser extent others that use similar tools like DAZ Studio. I mess with AI a bit myself but have to say that I get no "feeling" from it; I try a prompt and something happens without any "Mollyness" in it. =P So the bottom line is I'm going to keep doing Molly and I hope you will keep doing Rod. I'm privileged to have "met" you even though the Golden Age seems over. ;-)
As for Internet Providers? I am using Google Fiber at the moment and have used Spectrum (>.<). PoTAYtoe, potato. I live a bit north of Kansas City proper so I know a bit about the neighborhoods down in KC and adjacent. I have been reading that morons down there have been pulling up cable thinking to sell the copper wire only to find it's fiber glass and approximately worthless to them. I love mankind... it's PEOPLE I can't stand.
Hang in there, Rod. I love seeing your stuff and really LOVE to hear from you. <3

PS. Again good luck, "Points don't come easy to me...", I'll try to get them as much as possible as some little charity gifts for others, as my runtime is already a giant one, I dont need no new stuff for the moment! Cheer up even if your neck is dirty and you're not shaved!😄👍
