This is a project inspired by the amazing contributions done by 3dcheapskate and others for the Firefly users (if you haven't see it already go check that out, there is a freebie and its related forum topic). The short video here showcases a different flame in Superfly, using the techniques I developed over the last months for volumetric fire and flames. What you see here is a similar approach to the one I used when developing the "EV Flamethrower" product. It is still missing some key elements I would like to see, but I think it looks promising. It is also a good opportunity to showcase the strengths Poser have for rendering animation sequences using complex materials. Sorry for the camera closing in too low at the end, I changed the render resolution during setup and forgot to review the camera framing :) The total disk space used by this flame geometry is 113 Mb. As it averages only 600 Kb per frame, it works fine in the viewport too, scrollable timeline without issues. Total render time was around 110 minutes (average 36 seconds per frame), using CPU AMD Ryzen Threadripper 1950X. This is a raw render from Poser 12 Superfly (preset medium adaptive), as image sequence, 180 frames total, resolution 960 x 540 pixels, 30 fps. The hand is La Femme's (RPublishing).
