Description

The cavernous hall was empty, save for a lone sentry. Despite her bulky armor, Milly managed to sneak over, silent as a ghost, and take him down in less than two heartbeats. Behind her, the shade followed, making full use of the shadows cast by the candle lights. Milly was about to advance when her eyes caught a movement on the upper ramps of the fortress; another guard was making his rounds, and in a few moments would catch her in the open. "On the ramps!" she hissed urgently. "I've got this." the voice was emotionless, resolute. The shade emerged from the covers, an elven assassin clad in black, and in one fluid, graceful motion had one arrow nocked, aimed and released with a hardly a sound. The sentry was soon plucking feathers from his pierced throat, gurgling as he drowned in his own blood. He collapsed with a thud, causing Milly to wince, but apparently no alarms were raised. She exhaled with relief. "Good shot," Milly praised the elf, but the black assassin had already melted into the shadows. "Save it for later - if we both live."
