I wasn't kidding when I said I'd done some very careful bump mapping. I also did some careful transparency mapping and glossy layers to get some proper grain and texture to some very light cloth, and I'm pretty pleased!
If you look closely, there is a fair amount of detail showing in the cloth, more apparent at the points where the stretch is greatest (as it should be!) such as up at the shoulder. So, at this point I am pretty happy with the mesh, and the way it works with the textures.
Some areas still need a tweak or two, but I think we're looking pretty good so far...
