Wonderful work! Excellent realization!

The dance of death, a theme often painted and depicted in the Middle Ages.

"The dance of death is the representation of the power of death over human life, which emerged since the 14th century, in allegorical groups in which the pictorial representation of dance and death is always found simultaneously..." (

Unfortunately, many old frescos are no longer preserved, either because they have decayed due to age or were destroyed in iconoclasts.

Thank you for your nice comment, FurNose. Yes, the Totentanz is one of my long time favorite subjects. There is another one in my gallery here, as well (

Reminds me of a novel by Ryser Werner "Walliser Totentanz" In the 16th century, Valais was the scene of the struggle for supremacy in Europe. In the midst of war, plague and the witch hunt, herbalist Magdalena Capelani has a risky job. Excellent done, fantastic image, love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!5*
