Here's Bella once again, as she revels in a colorful sunrise - and she hopes you're enjoying it as well. Another quickie in between TNA pages (P 20 in process... and interesting twists coming up..). At least Bella is getting to SEE some sunshine. I've been fighting off a bit of depression lately, and it doesn't help that we've only seen about 5 minutes of sunlight per day for the past 2 weeks. It's been mostly dark, cloudy, gloomy, and rainy here. I wish it would go away to California where they need it badly. I'm sick of it here. Happily, I've not had any flooding issues in the basement, but the ground has got to be getting saturated pretty much by now. Hope my luck holds out.. Anyway, this shows the background that was reflected in the window in my last post with Bella. Basically what I do is bring a photo (in this case one of my drone shots) into Photoshop (I'm using CC 2019 - CC2022 which has 3D capabilities), and selecting "new mesh from selected layer" from the 3D menu, then "3D postcard" from the drop-down menu. This creates a flat plane with the photo or image that can be exported in several of the common 3D formats. I usually export as an .obj file with the image as the mtl file. It imports readily into Poser (or DAZ) and can be moved and manipulated like any other 3D asset. I'll usually tweak it in the material room to brighten it up a bit. I'll try and put together a video on how I do it and post it on YT. Now, back to work on Page 20! As a side note... A couple years ago, I started a back-story on G4's earlier life and how she became part of T.N.A. I kinda dropped the ball on that.. But I will be picking it up again soon. As well as seeing if I can come up with another fun image for the on-going Alien Collector Story by Radar_Rad_Dude and JohnnyM. It's a blast! Go check it out if you haven't already! Absolutely stunning! She's gorgeous... and I'm sure her neighbors are having a very good morning indeed! I'm sorry to hear about the weather and your depression... It was sunny and almost 90 in DE today... I had to go out to get my 2nd Covid shot (fully vaccinated and legal to go maskless!).

Fantastic work on this beautiful pin-up! I see now we are looking at her from inside her well furnished place and the reflection of the interior is excellently done! Your attention to small details always make your art stand out! Lucky those that live nearby and are greeted in the morning with such a wonderful view! The lighting and shadow work is so well done! :-)

Very fine. Though sunrises that red are exceedingly rare. Never seen one myself.

adorety 9:26PM | Thu, 20 May 2021

Super work. Everything and everyone is beautiful here. Nice tip on the photomanipulation. I just use PS Elements so I don't have access to that feature. Looks like I'm going to have to assess getting the PS subscription.

RodS 9:31PM | Thu, 20 May 2021

Hey, Art!

Yeah, that's the one subscription I'll be hanging onto until it becomes a choice of Photoshop or food... LOL Hopefully that day won't come anytime soon.. 😁

daggerwilldo 9:28PM | Thu, 20 May 2021

Now that is a beautiful BG and the render is very nicely done. She is a very lovely center piece character. Very enjoyable work all the way around.

Wolfenshire 2:34AM | Fri, 21 May 2021

If I stood on my balcony like that (I don't have a balcony, but I do have a porch) the cops would be here in ten minutes.

I understand a little more of what you did to get this reflection...if I didn't understand it all, it's only because 3D methods are so new to me. But thanks for explaining...the result is even more striking in this piece.

While Bella is less dominating in this, she's all the more mysterious and special because she's in shadow against a beautiful sunrise. Her glance to her right takes her out of the spotlight and makes her more taken by things outside the frame. A gracious stance, her form is pure model, and the light behind her---thick in peach hues---is rich and restful. I think most artists would make her stand out more, but you let her sink into the dawn instead...w/ sweet interplays from inside (in reflections) playing against the light from outside. Hints of the interior in this version---where the interior was much more present in the previous version. A very quiet, sensitive portrait of Bella, the kind of image photographers would do in a shoot, where they go for several moods...this one is reflective and quiet. Very sensitively done.

I hope you start feeling better (and are getting more sun out there). Good luck on the work you're doing---w/ moving and with your artwork. At least summer's coming, after a long winter. All the best in everything Rod!
