Description

Originally this had a background of a Tokyo convention center, and Daz hated it and rendered everything grainy (or the background burned out). So I put in an office building and Daz felt that was too many polygons (possibly true), so we compromised on this image. Then Daz did something it does occasionally with dark backgrounds-- where every rendering pass gets darker until the whole render looks like it was done in a coal mine with a pocket flashlight. (Why, Daz?). After some postwork you can see what it was supposed to look like, though this wasn't the best pose of all the renders I did. Anyway, this is a black satin oversize T with a fun bump map on it. And the base model is now out on the MP! Pixeluna and Shadownet's Onishi, from Daz.

That is just too lovely!

I think it may be my favourite so far, just pure class!

Aww, thank you! I think maybe Egypt is my favorite so far, but I just did a tropical one with a lorikeet that I like too :D

Beautiful Image! Onishi is striking!

lwperkins Online Now! 7:45PM | Mon, 19 April 2021

She is so much fun--the creators (shadownet and Pixeluna) usually have her as an action hero-- so it's fun to make her model clothes every now and then :D

I'm still fighting the lighting in Daz. I haven't figured it out yet.

lwperkins Online Now! 7:47PM | Mon, 19 April 2021

Sometimes it's great and sometimes it ignores everything you throw in there. Such a primadonna :D You still manage to coax good images out of it, though!

Very nice

Thank you so much; I wish some of the other poses had come out better; the character is so pretty!

Beautiful render, I really like that character and the shirt texture is my fav so far.

lwperkins Online Now! 7:50PM | Mon, 19 April 2021

She's one of my all time favorites even though Daz can be hard on her--she has a lot of translucency and if there is other clear/glass stuff in there Daz sometimes throws a fit. I can turn it down but I always hate to mess with her settings! (Isn't that hair gorgeous?) :D

pixeluna 9:16PM | Mon, 19 April 2021

Oh yeah, DS have its own quirks-- I can understand your frustration. There were times that I have to redo my renders 7 to 8 times. And most of the time I go with no background renders and just do the post work afterwards. I'm happy that you like Onishi, she is actually Rob's work and I just pitched in with the rest. Originally her name was Alexis but we decided to give her an Asian name, derived from Lucy Liu's character from the Kill Bill movie, O-Ren Ishii. Onishi is the shortcut. That's Onishi's origin. :-)

I knew she looked like Lucy Liu, I didn't know the rest--what fun! I always translated it in my head (poorly) as Lady (shi) Demon (oni), someone quite fearsome and who you should respect.:D Or perhaps Number One Best Demon. I should really start rendering her as a standalone item, and then composite in the back like you do. It would solve a lot of problems! And thank you too! <3 <3

You have created a lot of great graphics, they are all very beautiful, but unfortunately I cannot comment on all of them because of my back!

Thank you Ute, I'm just glad you are getting better! Don't worry about comments!

Lucy Liu to a tee! Such a lovely render, despite all of your challenges! Go to the top of the class!

Uh oh do I have to address the class? I think I'll sit in the back :D Thank you too!

Oh wow! How can you go wrong with a render like this. Fantastic!

lwperkins Online Now! 11:03AM | Wed, 21 April 2021

Onishi is always a wonderful model to work with--I kind of think of her as a real actress "Are you ok with role?" Hehe! She's always a good sport, even when Daz is pouting.

)

eekdog 12:43PM | Tue, 20 April 2021

I agree that is one terrific texture on her top and a lovely model.

lwperkins Online Now! 11:04AM | Wed, 21 April 2021

Thank you! The base texture is in my Velvety Satins for Daz, I wasn't able to get quite the same effect in Poser but I feel like I should do another Poser set (they are so much easier than the DS sets).

)

RodS 1:05PM | Tue, 20 April 2021

Onishi is looking quite fetching here, Lynn! Well worth all the trials it put you through.

I just wish my DAZ would work at all.... Maybe someday...

lwperkins Online Now! 11:06AM | Wed, 21 April 2021

Yeah, that is so weird--I seem to remember you have an upgraded computer and it should be very happy in it's new environment.So frustrating--but at the same time Poser is treating you very well :D

)

donnena 1:18PM | Tue, 20 April 2021

Gorgeous render!!!
I'm sorry DAZ gave you fits!

lwperkins Online Now! 11:08AM | Wed, 21 April 2021

It's Daz's favorite pastime! "Let's wait until the last second and then crash! Fufufu!" It now thinks BEFORE starting a render and I always have that moment of panic DID I REMEMBER TO SAVE THE FILE and usually the answer is no while Daz flickers. I really need a newer nVidia card.

adrie 2:38PM | Tue, 20 April 2021

She is a beautiful model, great work on this scene my friend.

lwperkins Online Now! 11:09AM | Wed, 21 April 2021

Thank you, she really is one of my favorites!

daggerwilldo 11:28PM | Tue, 20 April 2021

Her beautiful skin tone pops against that monotone B&W of her clothing and the BG. I think it is a quite lovely render. Very color pleasing to my eye.

lwperkins Online Now! 11:12AM | Wed, 21 April 2021

Thank you so much--I just wish the office building had worked, because it has a gorgeous outer wall that would have looked so good. I might see if I can snip it apart in Hex (looks around furtively, hoping Predatron doesn't notice)

)

paul_gormley 1:42AM | Wed, 21 April 2021

lol, I like your tale of the tribulations experienced to get this done, eye-opening to a Poser user, anyway, it was all worth it in the end as the colours and treatment worked out really well, a very striking image, I like the little snippet of cherry blossom too :)

lwperkins Online Now! 11:15AM | Wed, 21 April 2021

Thank you so much! Poser is just a rock compared to DS--I can crash Poser, but I have to work at it (usually it's from doing something absurd with the lights).. The main reason I use DS at all is the clothing--everything drapes better (and much easier) than in Poser. And I do love 3d clothing :D
