Brigit made her way to the larger of two black towers. Both of these towers were primarily dedicated to the teachings and experiments that were central to the Order's main discipline of fire. The Four Orders of the Mage were dedicated to the study of the four major elemental planes of rock, air, water and fire, or solids, gas, liquids and energy. There is a headquarters for each order, then various branches to lesser degrees and a few establishments that were more like frontier outposts in the wildest regions around the globe. Following the aforementioned sequence, they are the Order of the Basilisk, the Order of the Djinn, the Order of the Leviathan and, of course, the Order of the Phoenix. These are not the only houses or orders dedicated to magic. Other singular places and societies included Wizard's Spring in southwest Tirnerthol, the Order of the Dragon, specifically for the good dragons and some of their humanoid followers, the Warlock's Society, the Spiral Guild and the mysterious and newly found group, simply called The Black Skull. Their symbol was an elongated humanoid like skull with curved ram's horns on it. Their calling card has been found at some remote villages that have been slaughtered and at burial sites that have been desecrated or disturbed. Many conclude it is a group dedicated to the outlawed practice of Necromancy. The last known Necromancer was Enogh of southern Tirnerthol and the war he waged against Wizard's Spring and the other Elemental Mage Orders. It took the might of all of them and the four Elemental mistresses to stop him. Two Mistresses lost their lives that day over three hundred years ago. As Brigit approached the tower she could see black marks from fires and some fresh damage to the meteoric rock that the tower was made from. She opened the heavy steel door and ascended the outer stairway to an upper level. The floor second from the top level was divided in half with a corridor down the middle. One side was Levi's lab and the other her quarters and study. The top level was an open circle and served as a small classroom, a training lab for the few apprentices that Levi taught privately and as a summoning room when Levi would attempt to summon a phoenix. Brigit stopped on the floor below the top and immediately went to the door to Levi's lab. She just stood there for a few moments wondering what was to happen next. She was embarrassed with herself and her sudden lack of courage. She'd faced monsters and bands of vicious marauders, but she now found it hard to face a friend she had forsaken and who was now achieving the position that she once was to have. Finally she shook her head in frustration and rather than knocking, simply opened the door. Continues below.

Her eyes were greeted to a familiar site; a room full of all manner of books, scrolls, jars of liquids and powders, tables covered with papers and a myriad of other apparatus and spell components. Levi, of course, was up to something, currently bent over a glass boiling flask sitting over a gas burner and distilling something into a glass jar. By the aroma in the air, Brigit immediately identified it as Levi's version of Firencian Whiskey. Some things truly never changed. 'Come in Brigit.' Said a voice from Levi's back side. The room was warm and as was common, Levi was scantily clad with her blonde hair pulled back in the style of the dual pony tail. When she stood up and turned around she was smiling and beautiful. Brigit was rather surprised at the smile. She expected a more fiery or stand offish greeting. Instead, Levi grabbed a bottle and two glasses and beckoned Brigit over to have a seat. 'I decided it would be better to break the ice like this, rather than tear you a new one for daring to come back here after why you left.' Said Levi. As was her trait, one of Brigit's eyebrows went up, but she decided to accept the invitation. She removed her sword and belt and left them by the door, the sword leaning against a pedestal. As she went to the seat, she removed her coat and hung it from the back of the chair. Without a word yet, Brigit took the offered glass and a sat. Levi motioned to her to raise her glass and she filled it with the clear aromatic drink, then filled her own glass. She sat in a chair opposite Brigit and held up her glass while still clutching the bottle tightly by the neck. 'A toast.' Levi said and held up her glass. Brigit followed suit. 'The Prodigal daughter returns.' And she downed the drink in one big gulp without a shudder. Brigit hesitated a moment as her eyebrow went up again and then she did the same. The liquid burned only a little. Smooth and grainy with notes of citrus and other herbs filled her mouth and her sinuses. If Levi made this, it was her best batch yet. Still smiling, Levi refilled both glasses and said, 'Now tell me why I should be going off on an important mission with an exile as the leader.' And her smile quickly faded. Brigit's shoulders slumped, ever so slightly as she thought that this may be the hardest part of the upcoming mission. The 'lab' is Opus Magnum by Faveral at DAZ. Thanks for looking and hopeufully the next image will be ready by tomorrow. I will eventually provide a more comprehensive credit and creation list for this Brigit series. Thanks

Mmmm, I debated much with myself about getting the Magnum Opus set when it first came out and was on sale...but there were other things I wanted. It's really a beautiful set and you've put it to wonderful use here, Art! The lighting in this is perfect and it all looks totally great!! I like Levi's expression too. This is definitely worth zooming in to see the details and Brigit standing back there. Fabulous!!

Прекрасный магический эффект. Очень здорово!

HAHAHAHA! I love that Levi's using the lab to make moonshine!! I already like this girl! You've described Brigit's apprehension perfectly. It's odd that you can regularly find yourself in the heat of combat and feel no fear, yet the notion of meeting someone in a non-hostile situation can make you nervous. Especially when you have a history with that person. It's happened to me before. Biochemistry is an odd thing... lol!

I could feel the apprehension in the air as I read this... sometimes we don't know what will bring fear, but it always causes the same physical reactions. A beautiful and very detailed and perfectly lit scene!

Wow, that is a very impressive scene. I thought it was poser but to see it done in VUE I am doubly impressed. It looks like an outstanding set. I love the lighting here, the bit of soft light in the dark room. The perspective, depth of field and camera play is perfection. Levi sounds like a girl after my own heart. I bet her and Brigit have a magnificent firely relationship. They both seem like scrappers. A fine piece of story telling.

Outstanding lighting and atmosphere in this render, Art - once again you've really nailed it! One of these days if I ever get the time, I'm gonna try to figure out why I can't get poser figures to import into Vue...
