Description
In the early years of the Third Age of Middle Earth, about 1050-1100, Sauron built a fortress in south west Mirkwood slowly corrupting it. He hid there throughout the Third Age looking for his ring. He fled only once when an inquisitive Gandalf came looking in about 2800. He returned and stayed another 100 or more years until the time of Bilbo finding the One Ring. In that same year of 2941 TA, Sauron was forced out by Gandalf and the Council of the Wise, but returned to the prepared Barad Dur in Mordor.

Sauron...and to think that he was undone by hobbits. More precisely a hobbits greed and desire. This is a wonderful insight into the history of the time preceeding what most of the world only watched. Bravo.
