Description

"The Gods live not in the crevices of mortar and stone, nor in the jewelled eyes of a ram, but in the hands of men and the hearts of women and in the land of wonder. Dip your cup in the river and you drink the Gods. Breathe the air and the Gods fly in your breath. The God in the wind puffs the sail and speeds the traveller home. Nodding and crowing the birds are Gods clinging to the branches of trees. Covered with blood the Gods enter the world and we call them children. May we come and go in and out of heaven through the gates of starlight. As the houses of earth fill with dancing and song, so filled are the houses of heaven. I come in truth. I sail a long river and row back again. It is joy to breathe under the stars. I am the sojourner destined to walk a thousand years until I arrive at myself and am home."color> These words were written thousands of years ago in the Egyptian Book of the Dead. Ancient words, but still relevant and moving even today. Although this pic obviously isn't Egyptian, I thought it typified these beautiful words....hopefully :o) Wishing everyone a most wondrous day ! ~ Love & Hugs ~ * Mina * Credits: www.trinketstock.deviantart.com stock xchng

an old spiritual teacher said to me, "it is not the blessed who are in heaven, but heaven that is in the blessed..." It's an old mystical saying. And another said, "I have walked this planet and seen many things, but a lifetime has taught me that light is right where I stand..." Beautiful, mina (your offerings always are). The image is layered & shimmering & oceanic & filled with your ever-present dawning. I've always felt you were a gift to this site, but some mornings it's as loud as an ocean's roar. You bring divinity to my door, and for that I am deeply grateful. Beautiful & touching...thank you...

Dear Mina, my eyes have been humidified with the reading of these old words from 30 centuries… I adore like you, all that touches with the Ancient Egypt an old… succession of dynasties which make me think of extraterrestrial… your image sticks perfectly to these writings. Thanks for making us share such moments of emotion!!!

Written with "hairbrushes" and "birds" in pictograms called hieroglyphics. I was thinking yesterday that Isaac Newton never claimed his work covered the stars which were fixed in the sky(once you understood the rotating earth) he only claimed to have explained the planets which stood out as points of light that moved against the star background. I was trying to explain blindness when facing the future.
