It's looking good. I would suggest a browsable the possibility of a browsable gallery. I find the list to be a bit dry.

they look o.k. to me. but add a feature so everybody can find their ranking. I wanted to see how far from the bottom I am

This is an interesting addition. The ability to hover your mouse over each link and see not only the image in contention... but to read how it ranked in the overall scheme of things... plus the statistics that put it there... I think it's all good. Thanks to the programmers and everyone working behind the scenes for accomplishing this! :)

Thank you for your feeback, I will pass on suggestions to the programmers. Stacey

ok..but where are charts regarding different software as it was before ?. I am interested only in charts regarding vue or terreagen or any other program not all mixed. So where I can find it ?

I think you are referring to the Hot20 which is no longer available. The ArtCharts are not the same as the Hot20. I answered your question in more detail in response to the Site Mail you sent me:) Hope it helps explain a little better. Thanks

I quite like it' i thought the Hot20 was a bit competitive which i am not too keen on in an artistic sense' this is much more user friendly and a good place to find other artists that i might have missed' I presume a lot of hard work has gone into the recent changes/upgrades on Rendo' I have to admit geting Very frustated with the slow interface during the transition but all in all I think its been worth it' my only Issue is the Browse option which i find frustating' why do i have to click browse when i have clicked Galleries? Im sure theres a reason..But my thanks to you all for the hard (probably frustrating) work.

Thanks for giving us the option to turn that off, hated the vote button and this is right up there with it.

I was so happy to see that the HOT20 was finally gone, but I'm sad to see that now we have a new popularity contest. Favorite Images are determined by the number of members that have added an image to their favorites during the last week. While it's not working the same as the HOT20, this still sounds pretty much like a popularity contest.

I think that the gallery sould have preview thumbnails. It would be more atractive.

craig_mckay ( posted at 12:00AM Thu, 13 July 2006

I agree with aeilkema that renderosity is as much about popularity of the artist than the quality of the work. (often the 2 do not correlate!!) Not quite sure what the relevancy of this chart has other than popularity.

Avalonne ( posted at 12:00AM Thu, 13 July 2006

aeilkema has echoed my sentiments exactly. I was thrilled to see the Hot 20 gone as it caused so many hurt feelings, and now we have Art Charts, which are a tad better than the Hot 20 but still have the potential to cause hurt feelings, IMHO.

It is my hope that eventually (soon) there will be an "Art Chart" for each "Subject" and each "Genre" selectable by the viewer through a couple of drop-down lists. It would be fantastic to see (for example) the hottest 50 images for Mixed Medium/Surrealism for any given week! Another thing I would love to see is there being NO WAY POSSIBLE for an artists name/image to appear more than once in any given list/category for a given time period. It's too much like the Hot 20 used to be, with a given artist hogging as much as 20-25% of the list at any given time(remember how it used to be? It was more like the Top 5). Finally, I would like to see all images that contain T & A (nudity) in a "Genre" of nudity, no matter what the "Subject". The reason being, the Top 50 will always be near half-filled with images that show nudity! As it stands, I'd be lucky to ever see - let's say - a fractal. As nudity will win over a fractal work, essentially ALWAYS! That pretty much negates any hope of a fractal work ever appearing regulary in the existing charts! Thanks for reading my rant, and thanks for any consideration given of my suggestions. It is truly and greatly appreciated!

Great idea looks good with good functionality. You know its a shame about all the tits and rocks in there;)

Like the vast majority of changes that have taken place here at 'Rosity, I like the way things were before the changes. I do not fear change... but sometimes change is not really for the better. Oh well. Can't please everyone eh?

Lully ( posted at 12:00AM Sat, 15 July 2006

I wasn't a big fan of the hot 20 and not really of this either. I would have liked to have seen a chart which has been hand picked by the rendo staff for it's quality and imagination and not as a popularity contest which i see 'sometimes' as a bit of a farce due to those who are click happy with the votes button on their buddies images OR now should i say the favs button. I'm wondering how may people will have the entire contents of any particular artist's gallery in their favourite images section in a couple of months time, lol... we shall see :o)

I have never understood the mentality behind claiming that it's "unfair" that skilled artists get credit for consistently producing work that a lot of people enjoy. I'm sorry, what -exactly- is unfair about that? The popular stuff . . . is popular! A lot of people like it -- thus, it continues to be popular. What a concept! Some folks aren't going to be happy until there's a lottery to pick images at random no matter what the quality, and even then they'll scream that it's "fixed" every week when their own stuff doesn't show up.

Arbelain ( posted at 12:00AM Sat, 15 July 2006

I agree with the detractors of this new system, that gives more relevance to the same people. The rankings list remember me now the Tour de France classifications: general, mountain, green maillot...

Ang25 ( posted at 12:00AM Sun, 16 July 2006

Whats fair about it? Well it gives more weight to poser images because the user base is larger. Luckily, for me its to difficult to view the art chart images, like everything else new with this site, its cumbersome to get to. I stopped watching the summer Olympics years ago because of the same fairness. The popular sports were given prime air time and shown more often, while my favorite the equestrian events were scarce.

Longrider ( posted at 12:00AM Sun, 16 July 2006

I think thumbs would be nice, other than that ,the art charts are a very good improvement. Forget about the new popularity complains ,if people like something than it will be [the most] popular and there is nothing wrong with that. You do what your thing and if a lot of people like it ,there is nothing you can do about it,LOL. Well done Rendo team.

Arbelain ( posted at 12:00AM Sun, 16 July 2006

Rendo Team does what they consider better for the characteristiques of the place. This is not and abstract art website. But given more and more for the popular desires they will lose more and more the not popular people, that now are like in the last plant of the subterraneans.

aeilkema ( posted at 12:00AM Tue, 18 July 2006

I have never understood the mentality behind claiming that it's "unfair" that skilled artists get credit for consistently producing work that a lot of people enjoy. SecretOrchid, that's the problem, Art Charts isn't always (or perhaps often) about skilled artists at all. A good number of the images in the charts hardly require any skill at all.

CoolBreezeLady ( posted at 12:00AM Thu, 20 July 2006

Congrads to everyone on the list!!! :) I didn't see alot of people that I know, but I'm sure the ones who made the list, well deserved it for their had work and talent!!! I'm not usually on anyone's list except the s*** list, so I wasn't disappointed that I wasn't there, after all there are some really super artist here!!!!

Ilenora ( posted at 12:00AM Sat, 22 July 2006

Just my opinion posting here ^^ I agree with tmathise, there really, REALLY should be a gallery/genre for Nudity and (maybe, but not as important) Violence. But the nudity is getting a little out-of-hand here. Not saying nudity is a bad thing, but it's nice to be able to choose to see/not see all those "content advisory" thumbnails raiding the gallery. There could be a little kid going around, see a title it likes and click it, not knowing that the nudity on it might be bad for a kid, even with the thumbnail. The thumbnail's sort of make you want to click it more if it has a good title or something. But the Art Charts are a good place to see who "in" now ^^ But maybe one for specially picked images by the Rendo mods would be good, or just an Art Chart for each Genre. Like other people have said, it might only be the popular people getting in, whoever they may be ^^ So maybe having different ones can let other people have a little recognition? Okay, my more-then-likely ignored opinion over ^^ Thanks R'osity for making a great place!

aeilkema quote: "Art Charts isn't always (or perhaps often) about skilled artists at all. A good number of the images in the charts hardly require any skill at all." How very sad to see an artist treat thier fellow artists like this. Just because you may not prefer a particular style of art does not mean it's not art or did not take skill to produce. I think you might want to take a moment to reflect upon what art is and what being an artist means.
