Subject: Trying to transfer Macintosh files to PC

They always used to be readable by Photoshop, but with 6 only jpgs are. Is there a workaround? I don't want to lose my layers if I don't have to. The Mac files were done in Photoshop 4.5 to 5.5. Emily

Is there an error message, or do they just not show up?? Make sure the correct extension is on the file name (.psd) i haven't had any problem, but i'll look into it... :) retrocity

I finally converted them with PSP. Everything before 6 just read them without probs. PSP was an easy conversion tool.

Absolutely. Trying to put extensions on in the Mac was more work than I wanted to do. PSP recognised them without and then just saved them with the right extension without tedious typing. It's been a long time since I even tired to do this-- maybe I was using OS 95 before and not 98 or later. At any rate it was a very quick work around. Emily

Hi Emily, I switch from Mac to PC all the time (though only on the PC I have PS7), you should activate the option of appending file extensions in PS on your mac. Go to edit->preferences->saving to do this (sorry, I have to translate from the german version) enjoy!
