Vue F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Oct 27 5:23 pm)
The prvs Ive seen in Vue are actually the thumbnail preview images Vue puts up in the "Open file" dialogues, when you load a scene/plant/object/atmosphere. Theres usually one per directory, with each new item you add to a folder getting added to this presumably compiled file. As such they arent really editable from a paint package, but should be left in the directory to allow previews. Hope this is helpful Mark
A sample how prv files works. It may happen that in the thumbnails of your scenes are missing some thumbs. They are on your HD but they don't show up. You can go in the scenes folder and simply delete the "scene.prv" file. When you open Vue again, all the missed thumbs will show up. Same if all your plants don't show up as a thumb. Just delete the "vegetation.pv" file from the Plants folder. Or the "object.prv" file from your Objects folder (or the other folders in the Object folder) to show up all objects as thumbnails. Deleting a *.prv file is without any risk, because Vue will create automatically a new *.prv file for every category when using it again. Prv files cannot be edited. Guitta
That's really a drag that they can't be edited, cause a lot fo the plants there can definitely use some touch up on what's generating the leaves, and not having access to these maens you're stuck with what Eon gives you.. I don't want to create new leaves, I just want to edit the existing ones.. Anyway around that???

You can effectively edit the existing ones. Have a look at my tutorial "create a young spring tree". This may give you the idea! GuittaThis site uses cookies to deliver the best experience. I am looking at some of the picture files that make up the textures fo he plants and I'm seeing a prv extension. Is there any way to convert these to jpg or bmp so that they can be edited in a Photoshop??? any info appreciated, thanks...
