The mesh and body texture are pretty much complete. Just need to make the textures and uv map the chassis, interior and engine compartments. The trunk even has a correct trunk mat, spare with hold down and fuel filler neck. It has a fully detailed trunk, engine, chassis, interior, etc. It weighs in at only 39,000 polys so everyone should be able to use it. Even with its reasonable poly count it is quite possibly the most detailed car for Poser yet, at least of the ones I have seen or created. It should be ready within the next couple weeks. Any recommendations for distribution? I assume the Renderosity marketplace would be the best place for it to be sold? And yes, it will be allowed for commercial rendering when purchased.

With a rig like this, you might consider selling it at DAZ.

Isn't DAZ the better site for selling vanilla stuff like this?

Very nice. I love those details. :)

Thanks Duddly! Looks fantastic! Yatrus--I think it's going to be a free-stuff item. And why would it be more appropriate at DAZ? What's "vanilla" about it?

Duddly posted Sat, 04 May 2002 at 9:24 AM

This model is not going into free stuff like the previous cars, sorry. I have some other cars in the works with ADR that will be however. This will probably sell for around $25 and will allow the purchaser to use it in Commercial renders. In the future I will probably create extra highly detailed models from scratch to sell for commercial use and less detailed for free stuff. The Mustang is a complete creation of my own work, other than Fords original design, and is far more detailed and required much more work than the previous cars. This weekend I still have to take some digital pictures of a few interior and engine components and map it and then Poserize it. Has anyone here Brokered with DAZ? What is your experience with them?

Mosca, The term "vanilla" refers to it being G-rated, as opposed to being rated R. I believe the opposite term is "kinky," although I understand that is not symmetrical. It is simply the vernacular.

Mosca posted Sat, 04 May 2002 at 3:52 PM

Hm. I guess I hadn't noticed much in the marketplace or in free stuff here that I wouldn't consider "vanilla." Now thralldom.org--they've got some kinky shit.

yatrus posted Sat, 04 May 2002 at 3:58 PM

Mosca, vanilla means NOT kniky. Kinky is NOT vanilla. They are opposites. OK? Thralldom is kinky. DAZ is vanilla. What I was getting at is, with a vanilla (non-kinky) product like a car, you'd seem to get a lot more attention at DAZ than here where there are like 100 new products a week.

Sometimes only vanilla is truly kinky. Chew on that for a while.
