I looked at carrera / ray dream shortly before metacreations sold ray dream...was blown back into the past. ray dream studio 5 is exactly the same program that Corel sent out with Corel Draw 6. every aspect of ray dream 5 is exactly the same as draw3d was. talk about time tripping....loosing 7 years just by running ray dream. ~g~

Actually, RayDream 3D's modeler is identical to CorelDream's modeler. RayDream 3D also had animation which CorelDream didn't. That said, there are features that exist in RayDream Studio (I'm more familiar with 5.5 than 5.0, but the features are the same) that don't exist in CorelDream (or RD 3D) -- such as the vertex modeler, the metaball modeler, deformers, additional shader options, that sort of thing. RDS is a little more powerful than it might appear at first glance. I'd suggest giving it a more thorough examination. That said, the most recent version of RDS is over two years old. If you're looking for something more recent, check out Carrara. - Dex
