Okay...I was trying out some of the new characters that were in Market, this week. This one, I love, she is gorgeous. I used my Anton changing pony, as usual...(my fav hair ;)) When I go to pose her, her eyes pop out, and my hair goes with them. Even the simplist poses. I took off the hair, and, posed her...same thing. I experimented with my other characters, to see if it was maybe my Poser acting up. Nope, all are fine. How do I fix this. I am sure it is a simple problem for some of you wizards. Thanks in advance. Pop...pop...Poppi!!!

I don't know how to fix it, but this one's gonna give me NIGHTMARES for weeks!

Is it related to a memory leak? How much space do you have allocated to pagefile.sys? How much ram do you have? My system screwed up characters before I upgraded my ram.

Poppi posted Sun, 01 July 2001 at 8:23 PM

what is a pagefile.sys?

mheldt posted Sun, 01 July 2001 at 8:38 PM

pagefile.sys is your swap file for virtual memory

It could be the morph targets. If you're using a pose that's made for the standard Vicki then I find that this can happen when you use characters derived from her. I usually just lock the head and then do the face after I've finished everything else. If this isn't the problem, then.....never mind :-)

It is a marketplace item, for v2p4. And, yes, I have had that problem on v2p4 with my own morphs, created for v1. Sigh.

I don't have this figure so I can't check it myself. It looks like the parenting for the eyes is getting changed as a result of applying the hair. I'd take a look at that first. I'd also try applying some other hair props to see if it occurs with again. If it does, look to see if there are any actor names common to the hair props that may be causing a problem. I'd also check the heirarchy window before and after apply the hair to see if there are any changes. Probably not a solution here but at least you might find some more info that will point in the right direction.

I'm with bushi on this one--it looks like a parenting problem. Possibly the hair and the figure have the same figure name-if you load the hair first they may both come up as "figure one." Either way if you re-parent the eyes to the head of the character it should behave properly. Also, do your poses all apply to the character in the default position or do they move her around the floor? Possibly they are applying to her alone but not her eyes. Mary

I wasn't given an option to "change parent"...grayed out. But, the hair is given different names. I finally locked the head, as Bushi suggested....THANKS!!! It worked, and I am able to pose her. Thanks guys, Poppi!
