I've got a question for you, Snarly, and that is, do you have any intentions of rewriting Snow Machine to be compatible with SuperFly in the near future? I think I might have asked you this before but don't remember, it's been ages ago ...

I have a lot to learn about Superfly first. Last time I used Superfly it wasn't possible because micropoly displacement hadn't been implemented - do you know if that has changed?I've got a question for you, Snarly, and that is, do you have any intentions of rewriting Snow Machine to be compatible with SuperFly in the near future? I think I might have asked you this before but don't remember, it's been ages ago ...

As far as I know, it hasn't changed yet. Micropoly displacement still doesn't work in Superfly.

However, there is a way to turn a bump/displacement map into a normal map.

There is a displacement node now in SuperFly. How well it works is a matter of opinion. It may do what you want or maybe not. Below are two pictures the first one is a Preview of 4 Poser Sphere's at Sub D of 1, 2, 4 and 8. The second picture shows how the pattern is displaced. For a snowbank it may be ok. For super fine detail probably not.

Welcome back, Snarly.
re: micropoly displacement. Blender 5.0 final came out around Christmas 2025, and among other things bumped up the โmicropoly displacementโ in Cycles from 'experimental' to 'official' and also appears to have re-named it. Sadly 5.0 came out only about nine days before Poser 14, and thus Poserโs newest Cycles apparently doesnโt have this feature yet (or it didn't, the last time I looked). This is because the Poser Dev team were quite sensibly not implementing stuff in Blender/Cycles that was flagged as 'experimental'.
