In 1959 Monogram produced a plastic model kit based on one of space exploration enthusiast Willey Ley's conceptual designs. Somewhat confusedly called a "space taxi" the vehicle was intended to move cargo between larger space vehicles and a space station.

Hey, I had that model when I was a kid.
On a side note, it was rereleased in 1996

I had the original model too. I collected most everything I could get about space travel.
The concept had some design problems. There was no attitude control for example. And it would be difficult for astronauts to work around the vehicle in zero-G. I plan to address some of those problems.

The text with the kit mentions passenger transport as well as cargo. I'm thinking of a passenger configuration:
The model didn't take zero-G into configuration having a flat floor for the cargo and the pilot standing on a raised platform. I'm using a seat, probably with some sort of restraint so the pilot (and passengers) aren't moved about as the vehicle maneuvers. There probably won't be a floor. I'm thinking of netting to restrain the cargo.

I've been changes from the Monogram model, most of which are not noticeable in the previous renders. I added an internal hatch and changed the direction of forward movement. The pilot now sits near the back and the primary docking end is at the cargo compartment end.
