And for those who haven't read the news, here's one of the most eagerly awaited knots...

Thank you so much for it: quite a bunch of Blender tutorials used to remain inaccessible without this gem.

That's how I've been able to correctly reproduce a Blender tutorial on how to get a procedural wood texture

It seems to be the last Poser 13 update, now they start focusing on Poser 14, just wonder what these Companion apps and or software applications running on a different devices than the primary intended or main application are about in the Poser future !? Sounds a little confusing and I doubt that it is related to modeling and creations. Gives a little the impression that they focus attaching Poser to an AI engine with bandwidth charges. Speculations can be high when related with the term of exciting web-based companion tools.

I really, really hope we are not getting AI.

Guess as long as it is not a essential feature it should not really matter, if it goes in the direction like used in online games or 3D online creation with renting for assets and tools it might rather be an issue. I just keep on creating the models as these will still be requested, an advantage would be if Poser would gain again a little success and not continue having a drop down. New interests could push creators and customers supporting poser again also other sites that offer Poser assets like RH  or new ones. But for such a reboot Bondware will have to come up with really bad ass features .... I probably will also have to get it just to be sure that the models I create (t) remain compatible, unless it is a lease, then I'm out. Meanwhile developed tools to bridge Poser, Daz Studiio and Blender due the low request of Poser it is just a nostalgic Poser support atm.

Sure AI might be an option to get some artists interested using Poser again and it might even boost it up so that people buy a little more assets, the less users the less creators, so even AI could be a possible option, the old users are not really supporting Poser and creators, fresh blood would not hurt at all.

Oh yeah, I am 99.999999999999999999999999999% certain that is what they are going to do.

I already have Midjourney and have ZERO interest in this option... unless it has the ability for me to control the pose and MAINTAIN THE CHARACTERS' FEATURES between renders so that I can add this option to my comic creating toolbox.

I'll be frank and this is my personal opinion so you feel free to ignore it. If they attach the features to an AI tool I'll be quitting Poser completely. I don't need an environmentally damaging, stealing-from- artists machine messing with my renders. At least in DAZ it is optional.

Let's not get excited over speculation. Nothing in the announcement says they're adding AI, and we don't know what they're planning. We can fret and get upset over a possibility or enjoy the versions we have while we wait for more information. Personally, I'm enjoying the new color ramp node and fixing the shader I tried to copy from blender last night without it.

Poser already has "AI". It has for a long time, just not the way you think. THe OIDN denoiser included in SuperFly is AI driven. It's trained on that render engine to recognize it's inherent noise and remove it. Any AI tools Poser gets will be tools to help you make art and not to steal it. And no, we didn't add any sentient thermostats, demonic semi-trucks or Terminators.

You are funny. I should have been more specific and say 'generative AI'. I understood well the denoiser's function and how it was created before and it is not what I am vehemently against. Sentient thermostats will be shot in this household, btw, I am a Texan.

We are looking at ways we can make use of "AI" to create artist tools. Absolutely nothing real is even planned right now. It's just research at this time. There are definitely things we can use to make an artist's life better. If and when Poser gets to that point I can assure you it won't be a Stable Diffusion clone. That disguised piracy stuff gives me hives.

There are some AI photo tools that let you adjust the exposure of the sky separately from other elements of the scene. That would be useful, I sometimes find myself blowing out the sky when I adjust the exposure in postFX.
