Subject: The end of ShareCG
This is very sad news.
In my current financial state I would not be any help, though it would be great if someone were able to save Sharecg.
The New HD Toaster from Wamco toasts bread more evenly and acurately than Standard Toasters. Take advantage of the FULLย resolution of your bread and try one today, because if your toast isn't in High Definition, you are not getting the most of your toast!
I realised that today and was like we just can't have nice things, now can we? Am hoping that someone who undertands what it means for render art, modellers etc community would adopt the server and content and keep it running. Somehow i think one who owns might not nesessarey understand what it is and that it originally was all about legal 3D and 2D content freebies and very little profitable content until it switched to cover that too.
I haven't been to that site in years. But last time I checked, the products that are for sale there - are mostly for sale here and elsewhere to.
Freebies, where the creators are still around, can be uploaded to Renderosity freebie section.

I do not forsee the vast quantity of freestuff being moved to Renderosity for many reasons, especially the non-Poser/DS stuff. There were many creators there that never had Renderosity accounts.

There was a vast amount of unique, cool content hosted there that is probably just lost forever. Really unfortunate and kind of terrible really that they just let it fall down, web and file hosting costs are not what made them close it down, that stuff is dirt cheap these days.
oh also, renderosity absolutely does not have a monopoly on people that consume free DAZ content, renderhub is another site that has a lot of activity and whole lot of users that don't come here, and vice versa, probably because they have a different set of policies regarding content - particularly, no AI images are permitted, and they are much more tolerant of adult content. I personally had never even looked at that site until ShareCG closed and was very surprised how active and engaged their user base is. 3dShards is another site that I hear is fairly busy.

the management there realized this and in the past few hours added a section for Poser content, probably this will get tweaked as they respond to user feedback about it. If people want to promote Poser content over there it's a good time to make noise for it.There is now a message for people to visit Renderh7b and creators to repost their content there, but Renderh7b as far as I see does not have Poser content at all, and most stuff costs money ( unlike on Sharecg). So there you go.
