Subject: Interested in an easy M4 to L"Homme Clothes fitting method?

willyb53 ( ) posted Wed, 19 March 2025 at 4:09 PM · edited Tue, 29 April 2025 at 3:27 AM

II primarly use LaFemme 1 and L"Homme 1 for my scenes, but there are not many clothes items for them.  The prefitter with the LaFemme add on works for LaFemme, but there is no comprable iteem for L'Homme.

I am currently developing a pre fitingroom room for M4 to LH1 including shoes.  At this point, I use the fitting room only for rigging and transfering JCMS when creating the figure.

Since LH1 is no longer the "NE" character I was wondering about interest.

The following image is Capt. Rebal for M4, including shoes fitted to L"Homme1

All items had zero fitting in the fitting room

Since I have hundreds of items  for M4 this helps me in my renders and was wondering if i there would be interested in this as a product

I would be interested.  ATM, L'Homme 2 isn't going anywhere due to the lack of clothing content available for him.  I have passed on upgrading to the current model until there is some genuine interest in developing him further.

I would also definitely be interested in this.

Conversion utilities are the way forward, in my opinion.  The creator base simply isn't available.

Have you looked at this- this is what I have been using for some time https://www.renderosity.com/marketplace/products/142878/lhomme-crossdresser-license

Cross dresser is available for free, you just have to purchase the licenses.

Rhia474 ( ) posted Thu, 20 March 2025 at 8:55 AM

Crossdresser crashes hard every time I try to transfer more than 2 morphs and i don't think it has been updated in a while. But yes, it's free.

GGreen ( ) posted Thu, 20 March 2025 at 11:38 AM

@Rhia474-Have you contacted the vendor about this problem? Here is the email address-support@evilinnocence.com

I usually just try one morph at a time, but there is probably a work around it.

willyb53 ( ) posted Fri, 21 March 2025 at 9:45 AM

I still have some work to do onshoes/boots and documentation :D

This is the result with where I am currently at.  Usable but not perfect

I'd be interested! If you included LH2, I might be interested in buying him, also.

I usually use XD4, but (I'm veering here) since it doesn't work for LF2, I discovered SIGASIGA's great tutorial on converting LF1 clothes to LF2. https://www.renderosity.com/freestuff/items/97133/convert-clothing-lafemme-1-to-la-femme-2 This is where I fell in love with the SETUP ROOM for clothes. I love the LF1 to LF2 prefit tool and the LF2 DevTools with the bones and morphs to copy from. I imagine the process could be automated more. And I'm not sure how different it is from what XD4 does under the hood. But the tools have me liking what the Setup Room does for clothes. (I've used the Fitting Room in the past with varying success. Maybe my lack of finesse in adjusting the right levels in there is clouding my judgment.)

I feel at this point that I should explain why I have no plans to support LF2/LH2.

I am apart time vendor.  what I release is usually something I created for my own use and think that the commnity may find a use for it.

The majority of my poser income comes from illustrations or author visualizations.

I did have some items queued up for the market but dropped when LH2 came out.  A couple of items I did for a granddaughter are in the freebies :D

I also refuse  to load items with FBMs and consider that a wasste of space.

Because I am primarly a user, and can create or convert most things I need, I could not see the advantage of LF2/LH2 which would require reconverting a large i

inventory of items that I have already done which would have involved a lot of work for basicly noe advantage.

Second item:  my wife just had surgery and will be unable to do much for the next three weeks so I am going to finish documentation on what I have done and submit.  If it does not pass I willrelease a more limited verson (no shoes) as a freebie an may come back with just a shoe conversion.

The final version has gone to my tester prior to submitting

Using this method preserves surface geometry wrinkles etc.

This method preserves relative space from the figure such as vest over shirt etc

The following image contains 6 conforming items from the M4 Woodsman, at no point was it necessary to scale or use the morph bruch although in any conversion it is a good idea to check  prior to going to the fitting room.  Shoes can not be perfect using this method because of the difference between the geometry of the foot/toes

I am now off to do some documentation :D

Good to see you succeeded! At the time I tried to include a Prefitter for the male figures but I could not get it right. The heavy musculature in the base figures introduced, to my liking, too much noise in the morphs.

willyb53 ( ) posted Thu, 27 March 2025 at 10:02 PM

Thank.  With my workflow, I do not even think of FBMS.  In fact thaat why I stioped doing conforming clothes at RENDO :D

When I do an FBM it will work on the base figur, but clothes will not fit no matter how many FBMS areincluded.  You have to use copy morphs to get any item to fit.  I did a totorial in freebies about the process.

The convrted clothes work well with the FBMs.  My reacher character with Wolf Leathers

@GGreen: Unfortunately for me, Crossdresser is Windows-only according to the notes. Since it appears Poser 14 will drop the Mac, may not make any difference to me. I'm still using Poser 11 Pro on macOS High Sierra and don't plan to upgrade, since most "upgrades" never are, in my experience.

willyb53 ( ) posted Sun, 13 April 2025 at 5:25 PM

Whith this one only in Poser, it should work no matter what version.

On a side note, I have a free M4_LH Shoe Fitter uploaded to the FreeStuff, waiting for approval.

Bought it. Thanks for not forgetting M4, still my preferred figure after all these years but realize I'll need to move to L'Homme sooner or later. Hope your pre-fitter will help, since I have loads of M4 stuff. I also clicked "Follow" on your store. :)

willyb53 ( ) posted Sun, 13 April 2025 at 6:05 PM

Thank you :D

I had to chose between hed and feet on the marketplace item, because I needed helmets.  shoes are not shaped like feet  so I did the free one to do a much better job.

A tip about morph copy in shoes: do them left and right separately, and move left far out of the way when doing right and vice versa.
