Once you have downloaded the installer, just run it. It will uninstall the old program, JUST the program not your previous settings, and then install the new, it will ask if you want to use the old preferences or not. And it's done.
The reason for the uninstall is to install the new as the updates aren't just patches. They're full versions.
Or another way to doit is to find the current Poser 13 folder (where the program is located) With Poser not running rename that folder to something else say Z895Poser. What that does is to remove Poser from the location where it was installed. Now run the installer and it will put in a new folder called Poser 13 and reset the desktop icons to the new install. Now you have the latest version and the last version on your computer. If for some reason you want to run the older version just open the Z895Poser folder and click the Poser.exe icon and the last version runs. You just can't run the two versions at the same time. I do this all the time and can run any of the versions I have for testing purposes to see what has changed or to test if the issues are fixed. And if you want you can delete the old Z985Poser folder by clicking and deleting. That way you don't have teh time spent un-installing the old version.

Well, I managed to update to 13.3.1009, though I did find it disconcerting to be forced to uninstall and re-install. Strangely awkward.
Been trying to find how to disable drag dropping in the menu because there is nothing there. It being this point: "Window menu Disable Drag Docking For All Palettes now has checkbox for toggling on/off and remembering preference state.".
Have fallen afoul of the Drag Docking issue on occasion and the idea of being able to disable it in all Palettes is welcome. Only it was not to be found in the Window menu or in the Preferences.
Glad that Poser 13 is still seeing updates though
The drag dropping toggle can be found here

I use Poser 13 and win 10
Thanks, Red Phantom. The docking was driving me nuts.

I just saw where Poser 13 has a new update (ver 13.3.1009 ?)
I downloaded the files, and went to search for a detailed description of how to install the update.
All I could find was a few snippets about installing Poser 13 (trial copy?), and a vague-ish reference to UNINSTALLING POSER 13 FIRST.
Is this correct? The update was created without the ability to update-in-place?
I've been a big poser fan since Version 1, but this is kinda lame. To trash my entire poser setup and start over from scratch?
Or have I overlooked something?
If there exist actual step-by-step instructions on a proper way to install the update, please post a link here?
Please?
Pretty please?
