Every now and again I play with the atmosphere in Poser. Not much luck so far - it's hit and miss.
What do step size and noise do? I change them around but no real change.

The way the atmosphere creates the effect in Poser is by adding a lot of transparent planes to the scene as it renders. The step is how far apart the planes are. If you see banding on objects decrease the step. Noise is similar it creates waves in the those planes. It gives you another way to disguise any artifacts caused by the transparent planes.
