been experimenting with keyframing the diffuse color chanel. trick was how to save it as a preset. saving it purely as a shader file didn't work, it only applies the 1st frame

added animated shader to free stuff

shader is attached to a cube porimitive drag in the cube to bring in the shader to your scene. apply shader to the surface desired then delete the cube
