I found this video online and i asked myself, is it possible to recreate that effect with the blow dryer?

I've always had a fear of catching stuff on fire with a blow dryer. lol I bet you could do that with a blow dryer, but I bet the heat gun is better to use, because it has an even temperature and pressure. Us artists have to go through a lot of trial and error to see if something works so we can get the artistic effect we want, so it won't hurt to try the blow dryer, I would just have a fire extinguisher close by just in case. lol

lol I kept wondering why you posted your question in this forum and not the 2D and Traditional Art Forum, but then I thought well maybe he feels more comfortable in this forum and know more people here that will give him a quick answer to his question. lol I should have re-read your question and noticed you mentioned effect and should have realized he's trying to achieve that effect in Photoshop. I promise my brain is functioning at a higher level today. lol I can't think of anything in Photoshop that would give you that effect really fast without using a few filters and brushes on it, but some elements of some software called Rebelle reminds of what the person was doing in the video. You can make the paint drip and move to certain places. After you do that, add a texture to certain places like the sand and the foam from the water to give it that gritty texture. So that's my best educated guess, I know one of the members has to have a better and faster way to achieve the look of that artwork in Photoshop.
