Anne Subway! haha, my initial plan was to name the main character 'Lucy', after the first paleo-anthropological find that boosted the whole theory of Human Evolution. She was called 'Lucy'. There have since been many more finds, but that find was a very pivotal one.

I like Lucy, since it gives her more of a neutral and humble vibe, and the connection to our human history might add that extra bit of depth. What do you think?

She (as in the entire figure) will be called Project Evolution for a while for that very reason, even I still call her PE, but her system name is basically Evolution. But I think its fun to think of a name for the lead female character. What do you think?

Wendy's ain't too well known over here. There are a few scattered around here and there but the others are better known.

I suppose if you wanted to connect two really famous names you could go for Marylin Hoover or Kim Presley.

If you make a guy - and go with the fast food theme - you can go for Duncan Donuts. Unless he's Scottish, then it'd be Duncan Disorderly. The male famous names yields some good combinations, too: Elvis Trump, Clint Torn, Donald Obama.

On the name: It should be a name that most cultures on this planet could speak and write easily (remember Poser's large userbase in Japan! And please also don't forget us Slavs...

Someone also should remember to check whether the prospected name doesn't have a dirty meaning in another language. Example car names: https://www.oddee.com/item_93544.aspx

I don't know whether the Issue with "Eve/Eva" is still valid (which I think is stupid anyway: "Eve" isn't a protected brand name!)

But I could imagine "Pretty Eve" being quite catchy for people and would also make a perfect acronym to "PE" (and in Russian, "красивая Ева" sounds nice too! )

I very much doubt they'll want a character that's built for Poser and potentially cuts into their Genesis sales. DAZ seem to be doing ok without third party human figures anyhow.

Lol! Yeah I considered the possibility of someone wanting to buy her. I don't think I'd do it, I want to stay in control of it. I'd be ok with others developing her, but I don't trust anyone else with making decisions for her . But yeah DAZ are doing fine with Genesis, they really don't need this figure. Let's see if she'll do well for Poser first of all lol!

BTW folks behind the scenes are a bit concerned for the name 'Eve' since it still does have negative associations, and its also a very overused name. So keep the ideas coming!

Well, you_ could _name her after my daughter and a certain vendor here. I'd be happy for anything to get the name spread around a bit more since I'm royally hacked off with people either mispronoucing it or mis spelling it. It's not even difficult to spell or say but sometimes I have to stop meself from going postal. I suppose anything that's different from the usual Keeley/Kerry/Samantha/Stephanie/blah blah blah is going to throw people off course but when even the damn teachers can't get it right I despair.

Failing that - and based on the fact that most female names in Indo/European languages end in "a" (except Russia but they have to be difficult) - how about:

Most Brits would associate it with Ena Sharples, a character from the long running soap, Coronation Street. Not, IMO, a particularly pleasant name anyhow.

If it has to begin with E, how about Elaine, or one of the variants (all derived from Helen/Helena anyhow)? Ellen, Elena, Eleanor...

I guess there's always Elvira but that has Cassandra Peterson associations.

If it doesn't need to begin with E - Pandora (first Greek myth woman, maybe not a good marketing choice) so maybe Dora (gift) - nicknames Dotty, Dolly etc. Choosing a name which has informal nicknames might widen appeal like Victoria has Vicky.

a lot of folks behind the scenes are insisting on doing just plain Evolution, mainly because of what we all hope she will be for Poser. Everyone also knows her as PE, or Project E. Evo might be something that will get used automatically, I've seen betas already refer to them as Evo. The Dutchies already call her Eefje haha, which is short for Eveline.

But a lot of these names are cool as characters in any case. I've already written down a few. Have you seen the new character Emma (I posted her on the previous page, you might have missed her)? I thought of Emma as her official name, as Emma was the wife of Charles Darwin, who wrote the first official paper on Evolution hehe. But yeah this girl is more an elf than anything natural lol. Inspiration for this character was for fantasy girls / babes that frequent many 3D poser / DS galleries. Her body is fairly... 'generous' More picas on the SM forums

My opinion, I would just market under Project Evolution. You already already have product recognition and a pretty neat loo why throw that away... Just make names for morph characters as you are doing but leave the base figure and Project Evolution and let people use the logo to identify their products as being related to that line.

I still think Ebola would be a brilliant name. ;)

If you really need the initials P and E, how about Pandemica Ebola?
