This is a companion video to my most recent tutorial originally created for Autodesk 3dsMax. I will attempt to translate all of the techniques and tools used in my 3dsMax video to the Blender workflow. You will need to enable the Add Mesh : Extra Objects addon to complete this tutorial.

If you're interested in how this compares to the original 3dsmax version, you can find that tutorial here: https://youtu.be/LaAhYo8ko_k

Ohhh, thank you LuxXeon. I'm definitely going to have to try this. Then maybe I won't have a problem figuring out some of your 3DS Max tutorials of this type. 😄

Thank you so much, Lobo! I have great respect for you and admire your dedication to the Blender community.

@Miss B, thank you and hope you find it useful. I do have several other Blender-specific tutorials on the channel as Lobo has pointed out. I usually create a tutorial in 3dsMax first, then translate the techniques over to Blender and release a video for that shortly after. I try specifically to keep most of the tutorials as general as possible as far as the modeling strategies are concerned (meaning I try not to incorporate plugins or scripts), but there are a few videos I was not able to translate. Fortunately, there are some other Youtubers who follow my channel and often convert the techniques in my 3dsMax videos to other software platforms and upload the videos. Of course, I don't I don't endorse these other channels or anything usually, but some of them are quite good.

Let me know if there's anything I can help you with if you decide to try out a tutorial in Blender, even if it's one of the 3dsMax videos I could help you translate the techniques. Thanks again!

Thank you LuxXeon you have bought much to this community as well your taking the time to translate many of your tutorials for Blender is above and beyond most tutorial makers would not take that time and effort for software that is not their primary tool and I know that many here do appreciate your efforts and I enjoy bragging about our members and team mates so keep it up and thank you again for sharing

Thank you, John! I appreciate you taking the time to make Blender versions of your 3dsmax videos. I have tried to follow some of your other 3dsmax tutorials with varying levels of success. Seeing as you appear to have a very good understanding of both softwares, which one did you find more difficult to learn? I have downloaded 3dsmax trial a while back, but didn't get very far before the time ran out. In 30 days, I only managed to render a few scenes and feel like I didn't even touch the surface of some of the modelling tools or modifiers. The modifiers in 3dsmax were crazy. When I looked at the modifier list it seemed never ending. It's amazing to me that you are able to achieve the same results in Blender! What do you feel is the reason for all the modifiers in 3dsmax compared to Blender, and why would it need so many when it's very clear that most of the same things can be done with far less? Would love to hear your expert opinion about the difference between the two. I know you probably get asked this question a lot and I may have even asked you this before, so if you don't feel like answering I completely udnerstand. Thank you again for all your work in the community and sharing your knowledge.
