Hi, everyone. This model has now been released here on Renderosity. The model includes the lounge chair and footrest ottoman as separate objects, both fully textured and UV Unwrapped. Both objects together consist of 56,137 polygons, and 56,682 vertices. High resolution PBR (Physically Based Rendering) texture maps are included with this set (4096x4096px), including a color, specular, gloss, and normal map for each material group. Standard bump maps are also included, but I highly recommend using the normal maps with your own customized materials for optimum render results. *The (Poser) OBJ files have been scaled to import perfectly in Daz|Studio 4.x., and should also import in an approximate location and size in Poser. See the included README.txt for detailed information on how to import the models in this set to the DAZ Studio software.

**Also included with this zip package is a bonus .BLEND file, with realistic Cycles materials and texture maps already applied to the model, with limited global illumination. The scene is "ready to render".

Please let me know if you have any questions or issues with this product. I stand behind all of my models, even the free ones, with full tech support. Thanks!

Ooh, VERY nice--thank you! I'll download and import into Poser for a project 😀

Did a render and it was great! Don't know why Poser doesn't put the normal map in the displacement slot. Anyway, with minor tweaking and adjustment, I am enjoying setting it up by itself as if it was an ad promoting the sale or as if in a setting. Thanks!

Thank you! Unfortunately, the normal maps won't load automatically to any software package through the OBJ file format. I do have the ability to work with Daz Studio, and may offer props in the future using the native file format of that application, but I don't currently have access to Poser. Perhaps in the future, I'll find someone to help me offer props and objects in a Poser native file format, but currently, OBJ is the only reliable avenue for me to exchange content with it.

Any chance that some time in the future, you can make your UV unwrapping more user-friendly? I mean, if I try an edgeblend shader in Daz (IIRC), it looks awful. Makes it difficult to create one's own textures for the models, as well. Granted I haven't looked at the textures of your newer models, so I apologize if you have already done this.

Thanks for the feedback, IceEmpress. Let me give just a little insight into what might be happening here. All of the newer models I have released in the last 10 months or so use a algorithm known as Global Uniform Unfolding (GU) to unwrap the objects with virtually no texture deformation or stretching. This algorithm provides a clean texture result that is very difficult to achieve any other way, and positions the UV shell with relative scaling on the given map size. In other words, the UV shells are scaled so that a procedural, seamless texture across the entire map will appear even, and details aren't distorted (smaller in flat areas and larger in curved areas, for example).

Long story short, the method of unwrapping I have decided upon favors the placement of seams and UV Shells in such as way as to virtually eliminate texture artifacts and stretching, if possible. The downside is that the result can only be edited efficiently in a 3D painting software (3dCoat, Blender, Substance Designer, etc), and not in a 2D painting software, like Photoshop.

Depending on the model, you should be able to apply any seamless procedural material to any part of the object just fine, without any issues. The key is in the application of procedural, seamless textures without overlapping patterns. The only other option to edit these maps quickly, as mentioned above, would be to bring the model into a 3D painting application, and edit the maps to your liking by painting directly on the model itself and avoid worrying about seams or overlapping borders. Some of the newer models can be edited by hand to certain degree, but the results will not be perfect. I highly recommend using a 3D material paint editor if possible.

LuxXeon,

Shouldn't you change your sig with the links to competing marketplaces? I thought that was against the TOS now.

I see. I do have Blacksmith3D, is that a 3D painting program?

After consulting with other Coordinators, and speaking directly with the admin, it appears you are correct, and I've adjusted my sig to be in compliance with the new TOS.

What a pity. There goes another source of quality freebies.
