In this tutorial, we're going to model a Sacred Merkaba, also known as a Stellated Octahedron or Star Tetrahedron in Blender 2.76. This is a companion video to a 3dsmax tutorial I did of the same object, and we will attempt to recreate that workflow now using Blender. You will need the Loop Tools addon, and the Extra Objects addon enabled for this exercise. They are located in the Addons tab of your User Preferences, under the "Mesh" and "Add Mesh" categories. I'm also using the Pie Menus, and Dynamic Spacebar Menu in this example, but they are not necessary to follow along.

Very well done, lux. You don't even need screencast keys, because you described everything perfectly.

Another great tutorial Lux., :) I was watching a youtube vid the other day on sacred geometry.... flower of life and such. I should have know with your mad geometry skills you would be familiar with the subject. The Merkaba is the 3d version of The star of David right?

Thank you, guys, and Happy New Year!
@Cybermonk: Thank you so much. Yes, the Merkaba,in this particular style, is also known as a three-dimensional Star of David, and plays a big part in ancient Jewish spirituality. It's such a famous shape in all sorts of religious iconography, I was really amazed when I started to research it for this tutorial. There's so many interesting shapes that could be found in the Flower Of Life.

Ok, I had to look up the flower of life to see what it is. Uh... It's pretty crazy that a simple geometric pattern can have such an historic artistic value! Learned something today guys. haha.
