Always a problem troubled me. The "Manifest.dsx"should be installed or not? If it is be installed but where should be installed? I opened it with txt and somes as follows: " <File TARGET="Content" ... Is it just about install informations but not to install? Thanks. But I always not install after unzip files, which just add contents to daz content. Thanks.

Manifest.dsx is used by DAZ's DIM (DAZ Install Manager) to install the content of DAZ zip files into either DAZStudio or Poser. It is not needed if you are manually unzipping your files. However, I find it easier to install content from DAZ3D with it; it eliminates going through the actual zip.

I'm here because the product wouldn't install via DIM so I did a manual install from the download on their site but why include stuff the DIM in the manual install? Rhetorical question. Supplement.dsx was there too. I figured they weren't needed because they're outside of the Content folder but I wanted to check. Thanks

The manual installs are also for DIM, if people don't want to or can't go online with their DS machine they can download the files on another machine and then place them in the Downloads folder for installation (equally, content can be downloaded with DIM - which will keep track of updates - and installed manually).

I don't know about a master Manifest.dsx file, but I found a cache of .dsx files in C:UsersPublicDocumentsMy DAZ 3D LibraryManifestFiles . These actually supply DIM with the list of installed files. You can also change this directory in DIM. Open the DIM, sign on or click run offline and start. Click the gear icon in upper right corner of DIM interface. Select the Installation tab. Look at the Manifest Directory line. Note the current location. Click the 3 dots on the Manifest Directory line and set the new destination. You will want to make a new empty directory. Call it whatever makes sense. After that, click Accept and close the DIM. If you reopen the DIM now , it will seem you have nothing installed. If you checked, close the DIM. You need to move all your dsx files to the new location. You can also copy files to new location and delete the old files later. Up to you. When the files are all transferred to the new location, open the DIM. It should show all your installed products. Future products will be saved to the new location and show up as expected. Ok?

Thanks RHaseltine and Torquinox, that makes sense. I'll put them in the right place then, I was concerned about updates, since, obviously, the install file is messed up.
