Subject: Do Unimesh Fits Work In Carrara?

There are many clothing items in Daz catalog that are 'Unimesh Fits', like this one: Space Dweller M4 Unimesh Fits.

My understanding is that a unimesh fit is just one mesh that fit many figures, like M4 or H4. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Does anybody have experience with these unimesh fits in Carrara? Are they properly supported?

Thanks in advance.

Unimesh is a bit of a misnomer. Like older models, the mesh is actually multiple parts elegantly in a relationship with each other via morphs and the joint editor.

The unimesh idea is that a single mesh can be morphed into ANY character, preventing the need for multiple mesh forms. This then extends to the clothing where dialing the character mesh will then also extend to the clothing, boy, girl, monster or man.

Usually the unimesh fits require the basic outfit in order to work - the one you linked to requires the Space Dwellerfor M4 outfit.  I don't know about this one specifically but I have some other unimesh fit outfits and they work fine in Carrara; I used this one Menswear 1930's Unimesh in a render not too long ago and it not only loaded fine, it auto-fit to Gensis 2 Male almost perfectly.

Thanks Mark and MDO 2010 for your replies.

And thanks MDO 2010 for your link to the 1930 Menswear for M4. I totally forgot that I bought this item a while back and never had a chance to use it. It's a perfect outfit for an Indiana Jones type of story.

I really like that 1930's Menswear outfit - I used it for the photo in the lower left corner of this image:
