Hi, I create all my objects with Carrara 7.2pro, and sculptris.
i have downloaded a 30day trial version of Modo 801,because i'm thinking about switching to this software, together with the meshfusion plugin.
it is a 1564 euro's investment,so i could use some feedback.

For modeling, modo is outstanding. If you are going the professional route, prefer modo over Carrara. Carrara's modeling capability is adequate. modo's capability is state-of-the-art. Additionally, you'll thank yourself for the render quality and speed improvement alone.
modo is not an insignificant investment, but it plays well in professional pipelines and the support both from the company and community is outstanding. The only thing modo doesn't do is import pre made content such as Poser/DAZ.
I love Carrara and it still is a valuable tool in my toolbox, but for modeling, modo wins – no competition.

Ok, thank you for your reply Mark. I'll will go forward with it.
I've used Carrara ever since 1997 when i had corel dream 3d wich was infact a version of raydream.,
and for me Carrara was a easy to learn package.
Any toughts about the learning curve and UI of Modo in comparison with Carrara.

We share Raydream as a 3D entry point!
modo definitely uses a different methodology. It will be just a brief familiarization. modo makes extensive use of contextual 'common sense' menus that make using it unbelievably easy. There are some getting-started tutorials on the Foundry site. I personally bought a couple of the pay-for tutorials from modo/Foundry when getting started, which significantly accelerated my use of the program. Watching others use modo will answer a ton of questions and leave you smiling with what the program can do.
Not to sound like a modo fan-boy, but modeling with modo is actually fun.
Texturing in modo is based upon a layered system that is more of an industry standard than Carrara's specialized system. That too, may take a little bit to get used to but is very powerful and easy to use. One thing I'll say for Carrara, it's texturing system is probably the easiest I've ever used.
There is a ton of other modo features that are just super. But I'll stop here. ;)
