In case you don't know what Embree is, here are link and link for you.

about a year ago I started this thread to point-out how state-of-the-art and how important the Embree rendering technology is.

Obviously Embree did not catch the attention of Carrara dev team. They are still laboriously working on making Carrara connect to a Postgre database to make their smart CMS work. A 'smart' CMS that I personally could care less about.

In the meantime Shade 3D has had the smarts to offer an Embree based renderer as an extra option to its already fabulously great built-in renderer. This Embree-based renderer is called Fluid Ray RT and it is currently offered for $199 at Shade 3D store.

This Embree-based renderer is purely CPU based. No need for a $1,000 NVidia board.

If Shade has an optional, low-cost Embree-based renderer, you can be sure that the soon-to-be-released Poser Pro 2016 will too. That will leave Carrara, and its 1990's era renderer, in the dust.

Looks very similar to modo's renderer.
