Skydrive is part of W8.1. It runs all the time, and every hour goes on line to back up it's empty folders. This locks up my band width for the few minutes it runing which kills downloads and stops vids; shows on line.
I have been all over this, I can't uninstall it, it's not in my start up menu to stop it from starting, it's not in my services to disable. As far as I'm concernd this is the worse piece of spyware I have ever seen and I can't stop it or remove it.
Any one have a clue how to kill this W8.1 service? This isn't a cell phone I don't need to back everything up every hour.

I've been all over it, even checked online. None of the online solutions work because the options they say to kill it/uninstall it don't exist. There is no microsoft skydrive listed to uninstall. There is no microsoft silvercloud{?} to uninstall. gpedit.msc tells me the address doesn't exist.
These may have worked at one time but I'm of the opinion the last couple of updates to W8.1 was to stop people from killing or uninstalling skydrive. It's easier to remove malware, spyware, and trojens.

Thanks, I'll give that a go, but this is an example of why W8 is quite possable the worst build of windows ever, and that includes millennium.
I know I read some place W8 is what made W7 the best selling build of windows to date ![]()

I know I had issues with Skydriving causing me issues in another application and even though you had to sort of jump thru hoops to remove it. If I remember right you had to uninstall Microsoft Live to get rid of skydrive and the rest of the live package then reinstall and deselecting skydrive when you are given options of which you wish to install from the Microsoft Live.
