Hello all was wondering if any of you remember seeing an Egyptian Sarcophagus in the Market Place.
I thought I had it in my wish list but its not there and I cant find it.
It came with a top and bottom and was hollow so that you could put a V4 or M4 figure inside.
Please if you know of this prop send me a link.
Thanks
Steel

All of the ones I am finding are rectangular - most real ones were - but I am still looking to find you a sculpted one like this:

Check this by Hankster. The Ram is a sarcophagus

There is also this one. A little pricey, but lovely! http://www.the3dstudio.com/product_details.aspx?id_product=36361
There are some commercial ones at Turbosquid. http://www.turbosquid.com/Search/3D-Models/sarcophagus?sort_column=A5&sort_order=asc
The one from the MP here is no longer for sale. But try contacting one of the vendors to see if you can buy it privately via PayPal or in exchange for a gift certificate to a store of their choosing. http://www.renderosity.com/mod/bcs/index.php?ViewProduct=9671
**Actually, you can buy the Castle Dev Sarcophagus at Turbosquid for $9.00 ** http://www.turbosquid.com/3d-models/sarcophagus-historically-prop-pz3/178798

That used to be available at Animotions. It still shows as being there when I search at Mystic Nights, but I can't find it when I go there.

Interesting. I'll have to follow this thread. Back several versions ago DAZ Studio came with an Egyptian theme scene and props. You might check with them and see if that set is still available.

Not exactly sure what you're looking for, but I have a sculpted sarcophagus. It is part of a set but could easily be taken out. The lid swings open and the interior will accommodate most figures. here's the link:monkeycloud posted Tue, 10 July 2012 at 6:34 AM
Just tagging on out of interest...
But wow! Looking at Acadia's link I see Turbosquid has a Poser one! For a mere $9!

There was a fantastic item in the marketPlace labeled "Pharaoh's Coffin" made by someone named Poser-Ism Toshiyo. I purchased only a couple of month's ago, but running a search I can no longer find the item or the merchant. I'm guessing since that was his 9or her) only item, when sales dropped below a certain minimum, it vanished along with the merchant's page.
If you wish to contact him (or her), here's the e-mail...
the person also has a personal site...
The .CR2 file is closely based upon the famous King Tut sarcophagus having the contoured shape and the face carved into the wood. The package came with both a high resolution mesh and an economy version. On top of all that, it even has morphs so that the "death mask" can "talk" (using either Mimic or Talk Designer)! The lid can also bend at the "waist". Those are "bells and whistles" I would not have considered.
Again, you might be able to work a deal if you contact the vendor with the supplied e-mail.
Sincerely,
Bill

Wow that sounded like it was a really cool item, too bad it's gone from the market place. I think there must have been many hidden gems, lost to time.
GeneralNutt posted Thu, 12 July 2012 at 6:00 PM
I tried contacting Poser-Ism Toshiyo, they do not want to sell it directly, at least with the language barrier, I think thats the end result. Too bad, I already had a few images in my head.

You still want an Egyptian sarcophagus, SteelEyes? How 'bout this?

ShareCG? Yes, it's free! and promos reveals a Tut syled casket that looks comparable in quality to the one formerly sold here at Rendo'. The description states it even opens.
I'm at work so obviously I haven't downloaded it to try it. But, hey, it's free. If it doesn't work for you, the worst you've lost is the time to download, install and test it.
Just thought I'd relay my "discovery".

Follow-up...
Kirwyn, boy, do I feel like a schmuck! Reviewing this thread, I just now noticed your post and link to the very item I just "discovered".
I honestly don't know how I missed it the earlier times I read this thread. Had I seen it like I should have done, I wouldn't have bothered mentaioning the one now gone from the MarketPlace.
If nothing else, hopefully my previous post demonstrates how much your model impressed me and I haven't even downloaded it yet.
Just one question, is the casket actually "hinged", or can one readily set aside the lid (say, upon the floor) while the the "hero" examines the contents? 9Not really a deal breaker. I can, in theory, load 2 copies, hiding the lid of one and the bottom of the other.) Just curious.
Sincerely,
Bill

Kirwyn, I recently gave the link to your tomb and coffin set to a friend, and he said it sent him to a page with message stating the owner may have removed it.
Is that true or is ShareCG just acting "wonky"?

Bill
