I haven't any version of Poser on my machine just now - until I've finally come to d/l and install P9 - the one which was on sale.
All OK, and the program installed as usual. However, the content comes in separate zip files. On trying to install them, I get a message along the lines 'Poser isn't detected on your machine'. I've used Poser for years, though admittedly from CD installs. Can anyone help? Thanks :)

What machine and what OS?
How did you install Poser9? In program files (as it should be under Windows7)
Where did you locate your runtime? In personal or shared folder?
can not help a lot if you do not give all the information?
Do you get an option to point to ???

Start over and read the instructions.
You're supposed to place the files in together and let the installer handle all of them.
Renderosity forum reply notifications are wonky. If I read a follow-up in a thread, but I don't myself reply, then notifications no longer happen AT ALL on that thread. So if I seem to be ignoring a question, that's why. (Updated September 23, 2019)

BB separate content installations are possible, but you need to know what you are doing and where to put everything.
But right, better to follow the default instructions and put the content files where they are supposed to be.
(and do a default installation)
@ barrowglass
Download and install SR2.1 also. (once you get the origional install completed)

Thanks BB - did all that. Just let the installer do its thing (it's in a folder Smith Micro/Poser in Program Files x86). I run W7, 64 bit, 4 GB RAM. The thing is, the Poser 9 installer and content files were sent in separate downloadable zip files which then extracted to separate .exe files. Quite weird IMHO. I've only installed from CD before so find it tricky. Have contacted SM Support and will see what they come up with

Sorted with help from a guy at SM. I am a klutz. All the exe files had to be extracted to their own folder (on desktop) and the installer then fired up. Poser went through full installation with no problems. Stage two when I get time is to install DAZ figures (messy business) ;)
