C7Pro trial at download.com - is it legal?
I downloaded and installed it, but no text displays in OS 10.6.3, as mentioned by ominous.
I saw the daz forum post where it said to update to fix snow leopard issues, but only saw updates
for C6 (no C7 updates link seen). perhaps they're somewhere else.
the word "font" or "intf" was not found in the preference.txt file, hence i couldn't change that.
deleted pref and daz folder in documents, still no change. C7pro starts, then no text (empty dialog
boxes), then it quits, depending on which button I hit.
I guess ominous found the solution at daz forum, but I didn't see it there.
no, wait - reset download. but since I haven't bought it yet, can't do that.
it also says to replace the online help file pdf.

Daz has been distributing the free version of Daz Studio through download.com for a couple of years now. I wouldn't be surprised if they are now using them for other software downloads as well.

yeah, 3dage said it was legal, too. but it has the "no interface text" problem and none of the
fixes posted at daz seem to be possible for the trial version of c7pro. this means I can't buy it,
but perhaps they'll have a free trial version of c8pro. I can wait.

My issue was with C7Pro, and FONT "" was more than half-way down the file.

Just keep checking the Download site links. Eventually, they will point to the DAZ3D download page for the application. That is how free Studio and Bryce downloads were handled in the past with that site.
The trick is when DAZ3D will offer a free download with all the patches included. Like how Bryce 5.5c had all its patches in it to work with WinXP back in the day.
It even included a compatible version of DAZ Studio 1.4.16.
