Wow!  I can't believe a whole year has gone by and I haven't done hardly a thing since I built the Falcon model last Christmas.

It's been a long time for all of you long timer Carrara forum mongers but for those who remember me, there have been a lot of changes in my life recently (the biggest being that I now live in Tokyo Japan).  Last year, I decided that one of my holiday traditions would be to build some kind of detailed model (at least detailed for me).  So last Christmas, it was the Millenium Falcon).

This year, I decided to do a snow speeder.  As was tradition last year, I will be posting in this thread every couple of days to show how the battle is going.

I'm starting off with day 2 (today).  Again, to keep everybody updated, I do a primitive model first for scaling purposes (although the scale of this particular model is already a major bodge but I'm not really concerned).  Next is detail modeling until I can't mentally take it anymore and then texturing).

Another view.  Same model, but obviously from the back.

Great to have you back in contact mate. Are you doing the modelling in Carrara? Screen shots as you progress would be great.

Happy New Year
Brian

Just say yes to more detailing.

Been doing a lot of weird work on this.  Decided to completely rework the body which basically took all day.  Lots of details top and bottom which can't be seen.  So, posting an update isn't really helpful but here's a fun render I did before I go to bed.

Well this is as far as I want to take it.  For the shots I have planned, the detail is far more than enough.

For those old schoolers that have seen the old movies, here's something fun.

Posted an image in the gallery.  Now I have to back to work.  Christmas is over.  Maybe I can do a little more rendering this year instead of last years lame performance.  I'm teaching the Japanese how to do a lot of technical stuff and they need a lot of figures so maybe I'll be making a lot of that stuff.

Later,
