 Hello everyone.

I'm in need of some help to achieve the following effect

I tried making a selection -> copy -> feather -> motion blur -> blur more.

I got a decent result but not quite like that in the picture, any ideas? Oh and I'm using PSCS3.

Thanks.

Uhm, that's what I said I tried on my post, but I can't get effect as close as the one on the image.

In the image you show that is a 3d effect using refraction. In photoshop you need to copy the section you want to blur, motion blur it on its own layer and play with the blending styles of the layer the blur is on.You will want to try and fake the refraction by subtly warping the section so things down't quite match up like they would if real refraction was taking place.

It's not quite like what you have on that picture up there, but here's a tutorial for achieving a motion trail...

That's not actually a motion trail as it is a disruption of the light.

Strange argument.

No argument - just comments. I guess a motion trail is any visual artifact from motion.

I didn't think it was an argument either...  ;)

But whatever it's called, I just thought it looked a bit like what's on that picture up there, not exactly the same, but somewhat similar and that maybe Hioushi might find it useful and be able to adapt it to her need.
