I have Carrara 6 pro, I am new to rendering, I am a photographer and I want to create my own backgrounds in Carrara, is it possible to import  images like jpeg into this program or export landscapes created in Carrara into photoshop cs4?

thanks

Yes, images can be used as a backdrop or background or as texture maps in objects.
Yes, after render the images can be read by almost any 2D software.

Click on the word "scene" (listed under the objects pallette on the lower right).  That opens the choices for background and backdrop. Check the manual for more details on the differences between your choices. You can get the lighting to match the background perfectly.
